Overall I came out of last night feeling better than I went in. Even if I didnt get any numbers (for reasons to be explained) it was a liberating experience to be able to go up to numerous groups and start talking without feeling too weird. The embarrassment of any rejection is far less than just sitting in the corner of the bar with my mates drinking pint after pint....
anyway I've tried to condense everything into a couple of "memorable" (if you can call them that) encounters
1) HB8 in the smoking area. She actually approached me and my friend asking for a lighter. I then launched into "fight around the corner over a guy named George" and built quite a bit of interest-she even got her friend and made me tell her the story. Then I did a bit of novice esp and although I didnt get it right things seemed to be going well. I then told her I couldn't stay for long and was ready to launch into some attraction material......which unfortunately is where I let myself down. Primarily because I couldn't think of anything/never knew enough in detail. I therefore exited the set. This could be an illustration for the whole evening ie the openings were good but I couldn't get past that

2) My non pua friend dared me to try it on a less than impressive 2 set of HB5's. He told me that he wanted to see it in action where it would definitely work. I did the jealous girlfriend opener and managed to do quite a sly sit down. However my heart was not in it as the girls were not exactly what I was looking for so I exited.....good practice though

3) tried opening a 5 set with jealous girlfriend. My friend who was sitting in the corner quickly rushed in and told me to get out of there

4) finally the gem. Opened a 2 set of HB 7's. One girl was very interested in my hat (should have added a neg). Two amog chavs invade the set. I decide I would use my next bit of material on all 4 of them....so I ask all 4 if they believe in magic spells (leading to esp). The two guys then go "whats this guy all about" and "this is some freaky weirdo"....the girls turn their backs and I promptly exit

there were probably about 8 encounters in all which were fairly similar to the above 3

What I learned:
have reliable wingmen who can actually add something to your game. My friend acted as more of an obstacle and later in the night I'm pretty sure he told people I was only saying the stuff to try to pick up

I need to improve my game in the post opening stage

I might learn a few actual card tricks. One set on whom the esp stuff worked aked me to repeat it.....of course I then looked foolish. If I had had a card trick then I would have been able to just to that

Am still undecided on the issue of beer. On the one hand I would not have opened as many sets without the dutch courage. But then maybe I would have been able to wing some attraction if I hadnt been pissed

I would suggest against the card tricks, unless you have them at your place. Just because who brings cards to the club. Thats just my view on it. If you are going to go with a magic trick, do something with a coin. You always have them around and when you dance it doesn't feel like you've got a box of condoms in you pocket

But I will agree with you on your wing. I don't think he should have pulled you out even if you were (and I'm not say that you were going to) going to make a fool out of yourself. You learn just as much, if not more from failure then from sucess.

1) A good wingman, if he was any good he would have came in after a minuete or so and joined the group lokking after the obstacles while you could talk 1-1 with your target

2) Learn more material. Open set/time constaint/neg (if nessessary)/DHV/continue opener. From this point it doesnt matter what you really talk about because she should feel comfortable. To seduce, add kino.
