First field report. Some of it's a little hazy and I was caught up in a whirlwind of awesome, but I'll do my best to recount the events of last night. I live in a college town in Florida, to give ya some info on the setting.

Last night I decided it was high time I got back into the game. So I called up a couple of my best friends who happen to be great natural wings; a charming and boisterous gay friend of mine called Owl and a spiritualist/massage therapist named Kumo who volunteered to DD tonight.

I decided to set a precedent from the very get go. We cooked tacos, took shots of tequila and blasted music to get in the appropriate mindset. Then we drove downtown and found the club that was the most packed, but also offered a place to isolate on the outside patio. With wristbands on and dubstep thumping in the background, we went in.

We made friends with the bartender and vibed with the music for a while. I directed my 'hungry wolf' eyes on the crowd, hunting for a suitable doe; what I got was another predator. 5'2", in a black corsette and red tu-tu, hair astray like some Tim Burton character and two phallic pink glow-sticks dangling from her hand. She looked like an entire rave party that had thrown up on a poorly aging goth princess. She'll be Raver Girl, or RG. She was homely, but so peacocked and fearless that I had to at least respect the -complete- lack of hesitation on her part to approach me. Very alpha, or at least a decent facsimile. You know the kind. This could be a disaster or work entirely in my favor, depending on how I spun this.

RG: Hi, can I buy you a drink?
Me: Sure. (My friends look at me like I'm crazy and I motion for them just to go along with it. I've noticed that this girl seems to know -everyone-, especially the staff and she's offering me a free drink. She'll make a great pivot. I think.)
RG: Blah blah, I'm too old, too horny, too unique. (Disqualifying left and right followed by hamfisted attempts at DHV; A rich man doesn't have to tell you he's rich, in the words of Style.)
Me: *Some niceties, questions about who she knows*
RG: Oh, I don't know anyone here (She just acted like it, which I have to say, was fairly convincing. Liquid confidence is a fickle thing.) -But- all my friends are over at this other club, blah, blah.
Me: *Seeing an out and not wanting to get dragged to another club, I eject with the help of my wings and part with the drunken goth barfly*

Okay, so that didn't go very well. However, I now had a rather entertaining story to tell and a fun reason to kino and involve people (Owl would grab girls and use them to create a human blockade at certain moments in the night, eliciting giggles and making previous strangers part of our world.) We moved to the patio and found a way to clear out one of the couches in the middle; then we proceeded to have as much fun as possible, bringing the most interesting people to us. The first was a blonde with undeniable crazy eyes and an exposed tan stomach. She was walking around, craning her head as if looking for someone.

Me: Come hang out with us, we're much more interesting than your friends."
Blonde: *Stares in disbelief at us and steps closer.*
Owl: Hey, move over here, help block us from her! *Launches into story about crazy girl. Reels her in and starts DHV for Kumo and Myself. Owl is a great wingman. Kumo is sitting in quiet disbelief off to side, which hilariously enough, would be interpreted by the blonde as being indifferent to her, which won Kumo a ton of points inadvertently.*

By this point, it is clear to me that this blonde is insane; she's got that look in her eye and a frantic way of speaking that sets my hackles up. However, she's now begging Kumo to dance and dragging him to the dance floor, so who am I to stop his fun? He figures out that she's institution-worthy later, but we don't see him for a bit.

In the meanwhile, Owl and I set to work creating our own little party on the patio. I talk to girl with the cat hat next to me, bum a cigarette and tease her about her leggings. She immediately starts pawing at my arm as I turn away to greet a group of cute girls walking by, a petite brunette and a tall blonde mainly catching my eye. They're talking to a guy with a clearly genuine British accent so I interject myself into the conversation by asking him where he's from, pivoting into the group. My gaydar goes off and I decide to introduce British guy to my friend Owl; it's only fair that I wing for him too, right? -Now- I introduce myself to the petite brunette and the tall blonde, who are now jumping over themselves to tell me there names and ask me to dance (I'd all ready DHVed by talking about my travels, dropping a few jokes, playfully kino-ing them and generally having some really good banter with Owl.) The brunette is Rhea and the blonde is Danni. I talk some chick-crack with 'em (astrology, energy, massage work) and then ask 'em to dance. Rhea is my target and I have disarmed both Danni and British guy.

From there the night becomes a progressive blur of grinding on the dance floor, raising drinks, smiling and meeting new people. I asked a lot of people their opinions on shows like the Ninja Turtles and Captain Planet, drumming up nostalgia and eliciting drunken arguments about the superiority of Raphael over Leonardo. The place had a kind of indie vibe so it worked spectacularly. Kumo returns at one point with a scared look on his face and tells us about crazy blonde. We console him by introducing him to all our new friends.

At one point in the night Rhea is off to the side talking to a blonde guy with bad game. I'm busy talking to a different group of girls about astrology again, so I don't bother interjecting. Only when I'm done with that group (trading numbers for an after party, the set had opened me when they saw us having a ton of fun!) did I introduce myself to blonde guy with a hearty slap on the back and an overly friendly smile. It took all of 15 seconds to isolate Rhea, so we could exchange facebook information (and then numbers because mysteriously my facebook app wasn't working and I -really- wanted to continue this conversation =P). She goes to peck me on the cheek and I turn to meet her lips and she smiles. Then I took her out on the dance floor, kino, kino, kino, and kiss closed.

After that the night rapidly descended into drunken shennanigans and a late night mission to Steak and Shake. I woke up at four today, much of last night a blur and my phone filled with texts from last night. My body aches, my head pounds, but I'm smiling because I know I had a hell of a time. I'm aware there's not a whole lot of detail on tech or concrete conversation here; to be honest, I'm glad for that, because my whole focus of last night was to just be present. The only thing I asked myself all night was "What do I want to do right now that sounds like the most fun?" And then I did it. By having fun, first just with my friends and then with half of the club, we created a bubble of fun that people -wanted- to be a part of. Fairly simple stuff, but incredibly powerful.

I've been reading "The Power of Now" of late and I feel it's had a huge effect on my game. Inner game is all you'll ever need my friends. If you want to have a good time, well, you're all ready halfway there.
