| So today after I got off work I was debating as to whether or not I should stop by my favorite used book store on the way home. Because I haven't been there in a while I decided to do so. THANK GOD I DID!
Expect the Unexpected is a saying I live by, and that is just what happened to me when I got there. I came across a beauty from another world.
How it came to be? As I was walking the book isles, I came across the self help section and picked up "Idiot's Guide to Seduction" (go figure). I decided to sit on a sofa seat and started scrolling through the pages, when all of a sudden I lift up my eyes to see one the nicest mid-sections walk by. I immediately put the book back and went the way she did, looking interested in what I was looking at as I was approaching her (she was facing me as I turned around the corner). As I get closer, I politely excuse myself as I walk in front of her and stop at the war section. Right by the war section where she was looking was the travel section. BINGO, easy opener.
I say:
Me: "Into traveling?"
She looks at me and says "yes"
Me: "Anything in particular?"
Her: "California, I plan on going there."
Another BINGO, subject we can talk about since I too am moving there. So we started talking about California, her major, our interests, at this point I was starting to heavily (DHV) this girl and crack simple jokes as I was rolling. She always looked me dead in the eye and always smiled as we were speaking. Even told me I ought to write a book about positivity because it'll do the world some good. After about 10 minutes of awesome conversation I introduced myself to her, we shook hands, and had to (FTC) this girl. I asked if she would like to meet up sometime to continue our conversation. She said "I'd like that" and took her number. I asked when she is free and told me "I pretty much work all the time, but I'll let you know when I'm free." As I was ready to leave we shook hands again but this time I took her hand and kissed it. She giggled and I left.
Ok, here is a mistake I think I did, and I'll need some input. Because it's the holidays, I didn't say happy holidays or talk about the holidays at all during the convo, so when I left her, she went her way but I turned back after a few seconds to wish her a happy new year. I told her "oh, and happy new year" to which she smiled, then I left my way, but before doing so I bought a book.
For the record, this was the first time EVER that I felt completely comfortable talking to a perfect stranger and being myself. I mean I even got her to tell me she loves Star Wars and the movies. I was blown away. _________________ I make my own luck.
