I've never really been interested in "rules of the game" canned openers, and all the stages you learn in books of how to pick up women, I've always prefered things to be more natural. So I always looked over using a false time constraint as meaningless nonsense. I mean if your talking to a girl and its going well, why would you walk away?
I think you are confused. I think what you are refering to is a false time constraint (FTC). A false time constraint is used to get girls to lower their bitch shield by giving them the impression you are not there to stay. This means they aren't going to get into a long drawn out conversation with a boring guy and will give you a couple of minutes to talk to them. Of course by then you have them hooked on what you are going to say and forget you said you had to go.
Your scenario sounds more like a chance meeting with a nice girl. There was a time constaint as the bus was about to come and you left on a high which was good. Be interesting to hear how this plays out if you contact her.
