Do you ever have those times when you aren't meaning to do anything game related and the next thing you know some girl is giving you her number? Well it happens... I don't put many of these on the main forum but I thought this one was kind of funny.
Since coming back to the community you guys know I've been out a few times. I've had some good success with going out and online. Well, I've always done pretty well online so I've been focusing more on in person cold approaches, etc. to shake the rust off so to speak.
Anyways, I get home from work and my buddy Adam calls me up and wants to go eat at Chili's. I tell him I'm good with that so I change from my work clothes to jeans and a t-shirt and go meet him by my car....
Backstory: Adam is currently going through a seperation with his marriage. About 30 days ago he moved into my apartment complex...same building actually...and he is trying to adjust to things. Since we live so close it makes it easy for us to hang together. He's not in the community but he's heard some of my stories....
Anyways, we walk in to the local Chili's and there is no one there to seat us at first. I spot this cute chick on the far end of the restaurant and so does Adam. I tell Adam I should ask to be seated in her section. He is telling me not to do it...so naturally when the hostess comes out I say, "Hey can you sit me in that cute girls section?" She asks us if a booth is okay and we head over.
We sit down and he's telling me he can't believe I had the balls to ask that. About this time our cute HB8 brunette hostess comes over. She says, "How are you doing tonight?" I say, "
We are doing fantastic...how are you doing?" She says, "
Drate!" (That's not a typo that's what she said) I say, "Drate?!?" She says, "
I meant to say doing great....drate....great!" I'm starting to chuckle at her and smiling holding eye contact with her... she says, "
Okay, I give up...what would you like to drink?" Adam and I order our drinks.
She comes back with them and also with the silverware and she like really gets into my personal space putting it in front of me instead of the end of the table like she did Adams. I didn't think about this til later, but I say to her, "
Woah, you totally reached into my personal space there?!?" She says, "
Oh I'm sorry...I have a tendency to do that." I say, "
No it's okay, I'm just not sure if I'm feeling violated or not."
She starts laughing and she touches me on the shoulder hitting me while she laughs....About that time lightening strikes me that the girl is interested in me.
Yeah subconciously I'm sure I noticed this sooner but that's when my mind really woke up came out of the ether of a long day of work and said "wait a minute..."
Still in the moment I say to her, "
Are you always this nervous around men you like?" My buddy Adam has got his mouth open looking at me from across the table like....dude? She starts to say something but stumbles again... I say, "
See!" I touch her on her arm and hold, then say, "
Relax.... Tell you what sit down for a sec before you fall down." She sits next to Adam across the booth from me.
I look at her and say, "Look, I think you are cute too. When you get random moments since it's not busy come over here to talk to me some more, and let's see what happens...cool? By the way what's your name?" I meet Kerry and she meets me. She totally agrees to come by when she can more and she gets up to leave...about a minute later she's back for the food order she forgot to get. LOL.
Anyways this goes on where we're eating and she comes back and we are talking about random stuff about Nashville, stuff about her, how she goes to school, and me. We finish our meal and she comes back to ask if we want desert. I say, "
No I'm full. but you could give me your phone..." She says why? I say, "
cause I'm going to put my number in it silly..." I gesture for her to sit down next to me while I do this. She kind of blushes and hands it over....I put my # in, and call my phone so I have hers.
I tell her, "
I have something very serious to tell you...." She says, "
You're married?" I'm like, "
Lord no... I just want you to know that I don't do this that often and I'm really wanting to kiss you but I don't want to get you fired."
She leans in for the kiss. Not long after I leave the restaurant with my buddy who is now saying he's going to live vicariously through me and my penis from now on.
I have barely made it into the car when she texts me saying, "It was good meeting you tonight." Adam and I talk on the way home and he says, "You just can't turn it off can you?" I say to him, "Man for like the first few minutes I didn't even realize what I was doing til she touched me..." He says, "Really? What were you like using the force?"
I look at Adam and tell him, "
I don't know about you but I had a "DRATE" time."
