| Hey everyone,
Over the past three weeks I have been taking ball room dancing classes, and last night I thought I would put to use what I've been learning. So me and some friends went to a Halloween party at a club last night. Once we got there we got located, got our drinks, etc, and just started having a good time. It was at this time I noticed a very beautiful girl dressed in a corset, black fish nets, and cat ears on her head.
I approached her and my conversation went like this
Me: Hi, my name is _, what is yours?
Her: My name is _.
Me: _, would you care to dance?
Her guy friend: She would love to, go dance with him. (This caught me by surprise)
Her: I don't feel like dancing.
Her guy friend: Come on.
Her: No, I'm sorry.
Me: Okay, well you have a good evening.
So I went back to my table and started drinking. Well one the songs I dance to during my classes started to play, so me and one of my friends, a very very beautiful Italian girl, started to do the Merengue, a type of dance, to the song. Afterwards my friend's girlfriend wanted to do the dance with me, as she thought it looked fun. So we danced. Afterwards we went back to our table and started to drink.
Well as I was drinking I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned and in front of me was the girl I had asked a few hours earlier to dance me.
Her: Hey, I'd like to dance with you now.
Me: Okay, (took her hand), follow me.
I lead her onto the dance floor and I taught her how to do the Merengue. The Problem was at this point, I was pretty drunk, so I really wasn't able to really talk, or even do the dance correctly. So the interaction kinda died.
So the lessons I learned are:
1st, Drunk me + game = failure.
2nd, Learning how to dance has given me the ability to give a girl a really fun experience on the dance floor, vs the usually bump and grind.
3rd, I believe that the girl I asked earlier would not have danced with me if I had not danced with the other two girls. Social proof, or whatever you want to call it, for the win.
4th, Just because a girl tells you no at the beginning of the night, does not mean all hope is lost, just means at that moment she was not interested, and at a later moment she could be.
5th, again I repeat Drunk me + game = Failure. I do believe if I was in the right state of mind I could have carried the interaction farther, though I will never truly know because I was drunk.
