Thanks alpha. I have done EFT before. When do you recommend doing it? Whenever I have negative thoughts or self doubting/limiting beliefs???
Hey man,
It can be done in the moment for what is coming up. But the deeper changes come from exploring it further than that. I'd recommend that when things are coming up in the moment or a certain situation to write it down so you can refer to it later.
Just tapping on the surface stuff like "I feel nervous" can help a little... but where the real change lies is tracing that back to past memories/experiences.
Like there may be a few times a girl was really harsh and it hurt. But then when you clear them you will goto an earlier memory, eventually you get back to childhood memories that are connected which is where most of the issues come from.
Say you have a pattern of rejection in your childhood from your parents then you've adopted that pattern subconsciously and it's going to be easier to experience that and have it affect you until you are able to deal with it.
So...
1. Tap on the surface emotions/thoughts/etc and notice if any memories or past experiences come up. Some may logically not seem related, but if they come up they are related and usually you see why as you start working on them.
2. Another way is to bring up that emotion and ask "what does this remind me of"... "oh shit it reminds me of when I was 12 and a girl at school rejected me"... then work on that memory. Then ask "what else does this remind me of" and work on whatever else comes up.
3. If possible sit down and do this for all the dominant emotions/thoughts/beliefs that are holding you back and write down as many memories as possible related to that. Take some time each day to go through these and tap on them. Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to do 10 hours a day or something, because working on stuff subconsciously tires you and you need time for your brain to rearrange it. Even 30 minutes a day is good. Better to be consistent than to do tons in one day and go "this is too much".
As you're doing it write down any other memories/thoughts/beliefs/emotions that come up related to it and deal with them too. Your goal is to go through this whole list, even if it takes several months.
Hope that helps. That can be applied to nearly any method of subconscious change, not just EFT.
