Hey guys, so I am new to the game, and figure a good solid start would be my appearance. As it is, here are the changes I plan to make. I've spent a long time considering these: any opinions or thoughts are MORE than welcome. Criticism or not. Thanks!

Picture of me: http://i1323.photobucket.com/albums/u59 ... 781ccb.jpg

Age: 18
Height: 5'8
Weight: 135lbs

1. I plan on buying an Annex Pendant. To both add some 'depth' to my character, and as an object for them to ask about.
A Link: http://www.tribalhollywood.com/Detail.bok?no=25

2. I plan on buying a new watch. Again, to add some depth, maybe look a bit older.
A potential link: http://www.toxicwatches.com/

3. I want to pack a bout about 20-30lbs of muscle/fat/water weight etc. As it is, I am skinny and when I have asked some girls I know, gotten many comments reflecting it. Weighing about 160-170lbs would be more than welcome to my physique, and not too large or small and I will fill out more shirts, and suddenly a lot more things are 'fitting' to me.

4. As for shoes, I really just had in mind to buy some Black/White VANS or something like that. I usually have cheap ($20-$30) Shoes and want to up that price range. So this'll be a bit of a change.
Link: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9tz0 ... 4_1280.jpg

5. Clothing in general, I have mind of myself in a fitting black t-shirt or long sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up. A logo would be fine (Something reflecting my interests or something someone can ask about) perhaps pertaining to music as I play Drums, Guitar, and Piano. Pants would be dark faded fitting jeans. I am a bit vague in this department so advice would be appreciated. I only have that one outfit so far.

Bottom: http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/products ... SXB_mx.jpg

6. I am not sure if I should buy a few rings or not. Start with one and progress from there? I wouldn't even know where to start though in regards to rings.

7. A cleaner face. Obviously a LOT of attractive people don't have acne scarring or acne period. I have a few ideas as to how to accomplish, but obviously anything is appreciated.

8. White teeth. Pretty straight forward.

9. Posture is already something I am working on. I've heard from everyone and their grandmother that it is essential.

10. Expensive Sunglasses. Just so they look good on me, and that it shows I have money.

Thanks guys, that's all I have. If what I visualize comes to pass I'll be a far more attractive dude. Personality I will develop over the months and reading the threads. I have the confidence; never was a problem for me. I just need to know what to say and when. I'll start practicing on some ladies in public.

You may be over-thinking it, because like you said a lot of that is kind of intuitive. Yes, white teeth and no acne are desireable...but so what?

I think you have a good base to work from. You're not fat or ugly. I would go with clothes that fit really well. As far as rings, get a thumb ring. Lift weights and eat like crazy. You could probably pull of a rocker jacket and skinny jeans and a punker belt and wallet chain. I dunno, it's all about what style/genre you are looking to portray.

Probably. I tend to over think a lot. I already have a leather jacket (legit leather) that I wear during the winter. Everything else I listed is just small little things to help me get there. I dunno if I could rock Skinny Jeans, perhaps fitting jeans. I don't consider myself a punk; my personality isn't fitting for that. A wallet chain is a possibility.

But yeah if I figure I was to bulk up a bit (not too massive, just a decent muscle tone) that would change my appearance a lot. As it is I am skinny. If I bulked and changed the personality a bit; everything else is just icing on the cake.

Thanks for the input man.

Get down to a fashionable clothing outlet and try LOTS of different outfits on until you find ones that suite you. Then save and spend until you have a good wardrobe. You will look good and feel confident.

For anyone not yet confident to go shopping in the real world ;) Plenty of the top clothing websites allow for FREE returns. So you can buy and try many items of clothing on before you find what suites you.

As for the rest. Groom, groom, groom.

That pendant looks terrible. Anything tribal looks dumb. If you already got it, shame on you.

You don't wear a watch unless you're getting a ballin car-priced watch. So in this case, don't bother.

Don't wear expensive shades. If you wear shades out, they're bound to get stolen from a girl or broken. Also, 36 dollar shades wont portray that you have income. But you're also 18, so who cares?

Overall, I agree with dressing more fitted and gaining mass if you feel like you need to. I like the shirt and jeans. But maybe add in a lil bit of color? A few colored button downs? colored jackets/zip hoodies? colored sneakers?

EDIT: Get a haircut pls. Maybe a tan?

To me, cinematic, you seem a bit of a rock/alt/metal person (at least from that one photo you've put up), so play with that. Play with your own style. Don't go and get a tan if you don't want, and whilst obviously getting your hair cut to keep it shaped and neat is important, you don't need to drastically change the style to anything you don't want!

Right, I'll try and go through a few of your points as best I can. However, a lot of the more detailed stuff, I'd say read a few of the threads in this forum, as there's a lot of good advice here already. Check my profile and look at the threads I've posted in - there's a lot of good stuff both from myself and the other posters in those threads that you can work with. But here goes....

1) I don't dislike it. If I'm right in assuming you're going for the alt/rock type look, and if you're wearing black sort of stuff similar to what you're wearing in the photo you've put up, then I think it will go relatively well. I'm not a big fan of showy jewelery other than a watch to be honest, but in certain styles it can go well.

2) Again not sure where Soul lives, but there is nothing wrong with wearing a watch. I've got quite a few. One is an expensive 21st birthday present that I only wear for really formal situations. The rest are £20 from River Island and were brought to go with different outfits. I wear a brown leather strapped watch when wearing brown shoes and belt, and a black leather strapped watch when wearing black shoes and belt. Basic rule here - match the watch to your belt and shoes if it's a leather strap. Metallic watches are fine in and possibly more versatile. However, I actually prefer the look of a leather strap that matches the outfit - it shows that you pay attention to the details rather than just whack on any old expensive watch.

3) Eat more, lift weights, exercise, general stuff really. If you eat well, look after your nutrition and get a decent weights plan off the internet, you should see results pretty quick as you're quite skinny at the moment. Shouldn't be too hard. You shouldn't really need supplements or anything as a complete beginner, as just starting to eat right and exercise right will produce some pretty decent results.

4) I quite like those vans. I think they'd go well with a similar outfit to the one in the picture you've posted. Again, plenty of info on this site (and the internet at large) already, but as a general rule, make sure the shoes compliment something in the outfit. Often this will be matching shoes and belt (and watch?) and making sure the colour of those things goes with the colour top and pants you're wearing. So here you're going to have to do some research into colour theory (easy to find on the internet) - which will give you some advice on when it's best to wear brown shoes, grey shoes, black shoes etc. etc.

5) I'm not a fan of logos on anyone to be honest. I think whatever style you're going for, you can achieve it without logos. Actually, I suppose by that I mean brand names and corporate logos. If you've got a printed tee shirt with maybe a skull on or something like that, it can look good. But don't just go and get a standard band t-shirt or something with a big brandname logo on it, unless it completes the outfit. Dark fitted (If you can pull off skinny go for them - but not many men can without looking feminine. If you can't, go slim) jeans will look good on virtually everyone. Again, here, just look at some of the advice on this forum from myself and others, plenty of general info around.

6) Again, this is a big taste/style thing. Personally, I'd never wear them. And I think a lot of people just come off as pretentious when they wear them. BUT it is largely dependent on the general style you're trying to pull off and the ring itself. If you're going for a full on heavy metal head look and you wear a skull ring or something similar, then it could look alright. I suppose here you've got to know what you're after and just see. Maybe buy some cheap ones and see if you like them on, if not, give up. As puaninja says - I think a thumb ring might look decent on the sort of style I'm assuming you're going for.

7) Not much to say here. Whilst acne is often not a deal breaker if it's only a little bit, it's obviously always going to be a bonus if you can keep yourself as clear from it as possible. Advice wise - plenty on here already again, I tend to use dermatalogical soap and a tea tree thing at night. If you've not got terrible acne, often it's best to try and make your routine as simple as possible - a decent chemical free face wash and SPAM is usually enough for mild acne.

8) Yup.

9) Plenty of good info on here for that. Poeticlyskuac on here has some great stuff that helped me a lot when I was looking at this. But there's plenty of other alternatives around as well.

10) Expensive is nothing. More important how they look, and whether they match your face shape. You've got a fairly long and thing face, so you don't want pointy sunglasses as these will emphasise that. Get something wider either rectangular or circular. And also the colour of the frames should match your hair/face combo - you've got quite pale skin and dark black hair from the photo, so probably black or metal coloured frames. Avoid those brown turtley coloured ones.

Hey mate, I took the time to answer all your questions.
Let me make some suggestions (no offence, just some man-to-man advise)

1) the necklace is deffinately a NO for me. maybe it's your style, but don't think girls will like it. to me, it looks super geeky, and I think girls (at least the hot ones) will share my opinion.

2) The watch didn't convince me either. I wouldn't go for a full-metal watch, but instead, try an (oversized) watch with a leather strap. (Hilfiger, TW steel, just some examples...)

3) you could use some extra weight, but I'm not an expert on that area. I'm pretty skinny myself, I know how hard it is to gain some extra pounds.

4) I like the vans, they will match your style

5) I would try to rock the more alternative style. Skinny pants, jeans jackets, large scarfs, vans, ...

6) I never tried rings, but if you want to get some, don't buy gold or silver. Black or wood-colour will fit you way better, unless you want to look like an oldskool pimp

7) cleaner face is always a good idea. it might sound gay, but I would recommand you to get your eyebrows done (or do them yourself, but make sure they are equal). Girls don't like guys with thick (or worse: onely one) eyebrow. Also, get another haircut. Leave the middle, but shave the sides and the back of your head (faux-hawk). the super-spikey hair is for teenage boys.

8 ) white teeth: check

9) posture: check.

10) forget these sunglasses, they are totally not cool, and again, way too geeky (they look like something a professional cyclist would wear). if you want sunglasses, go for the classic Ray-Ban aviators or Wayfahrer, or a pair of Carreras, they are more expensive, but waaaaaayy better-looking.

I hope you can use some of this information.
I'm sorry if I sounded a little harsh on some of your suggestions, but believe me, you will thank me later!

If i was to recommend an item of clothing for you to try. It would be a black leather jacket. Might go well with your style.

Their are plenty of different styled leather jackets.

to reach your goal of 20-30 lbs of muscle natty, this will most likely take you longer then a year to accomplish naturally, and it will require will power, dedication and consistency with both lifting and nutrition/diet

constantly hitting your macros and daily caloric range, pay attention to it all and make sure it becomes a habit that you can sustain, track your progress both with weight losses/gains as well as strength losses/gains, do this regularily with consistency, you may also find that ''too big'' changes as you progress and weight lifting might become more about beating personal goals and improving more then just aesthetics (to a certain extent)

talk to your doctor about this, he/she can refer you to a dermatologist or give you the over the counter stuff if you currently have acne

style can be a big assest and you should choose yours based on your needs, some things that can be important to consider when you are trying to style yourself are

1) who are you trying to appeal to with this particular style
2) do you like this particular style, do you feel good about it / does it suit you

so, if you for example are after hipster chicks that are hitting up dubstep shows, just find a hottie and check out what her boyfriend is wearing, you can find out quickly what the regular trends are in a subculture for your local scene just from going out and experienceing that subculture, you don't have to conform to anything you don't like or you feel doesn't suite you, but being seen as a particular stereotype can help with initial introductions when the particular girl finds that stereotype to be attractive (emo girls, going for emo guys, dressed up make up swans shooting for choched out guys etc.), going out helps you establish what the common trends are within that subgroup

it's also pretty easy to get some fashion ideas from fashion magazines etc. in general

you also might find it a good idea to take a girl shopping with you to help you pick clothes that actually fit well for you, just make sure it's a girl that fits the type of ''girl I would bang''

Aight guys; so a few replies. Even harshness is appreciated; I don't give a shit how harsh you are. My ego will not get in my way of becoming better looking. But as an overall: I do like rock music, but I can't say there is a particular 'style' I am going for. Just dressing to look good, but not overly gay or anything. I.E the guy that is educated, smartly dressed; but not uptight and still a kind of guy who plays instruments in a band and whom is muscular (I've played drums/piano/guitar for several years.)

@JohnnyValentine Yeah I am going to go down and try some more clothing very soon. Make out a few outfits. Nothing wrong with looking good. I also already have a black leather jacket, a biker jacket no less.

@SOUL_FIGHTER It seems both you and another said no to the pendant. (It's not tribal btw) What would you suggest then? I'd prefer to wear SOMETHING; it adds character and shows that I'm not just some jacked up toolbag. Especially if I have a story to go with it. My hair used to be a LOT longer, I just cut it down recently. I've been growing it out a bit to see what looks best.

@7000 Thanks for the advice :).

@Twigg I can't see skinny pants being a part of my style .. ever. To be brutally blunt whenever I see a kid wearing skinny jeans I think he's some emo faggot (Not to be offensive; but that's what I envision). Unless we're thinking of different things completely? I've considered having my eyebrows down before; but I dunno if its something I'd actually do. I could see having a disastrous result. And I'd never really consider shaving my head ever to be honest. Do girls find that shit attractive? As for the sunglasses; yeah I suppose as long as they look good who cares? The suggestions are appreciated however.

@pumpington Yeah I find the hardest thing of working out is eating. My workouts themselves are fine; but getting the calories down is another story. And I can't generalize any particular style of girl I am after. I am not the type of person that could walk into my school and say: Yeah I want those goth girls over there. Everyone at my school dresses . . well however they like. There is no 'clique' dress so to speak. Just whatever they wanted to wear that day or whatever looked good.

No offence taken! If you don't like skinny jeans, than don't wear them, simple as that. I myself wear them all the time (for the record, I'm not an emo, nor a fag ;) ) but that's just a part of my (rock) style. I thought it would suit you as well, because you look like an alternative type to me. It would be a great match with the vans, though. I think you should go at least for the (slim) fitted jeans, they don't have to be extremely skinny. But of course, some like it, others don't.

I would still recommand the eyebrows: I had some very thick eyebrows myself, before I decided to pluck them (I did it myself). The result was waaaay better than before. It gave me a more friendly, open face. If I look at pictures from the past, I regret I dind't do it before. But take it easy, don't rush it! Because you're right: if you pluck to much or at the wrong places, you will look like a fool. There is some very good information about eyebrow-plucking for men on the internet, take a look !

And with shaving, I don't mean bald! I suggested short hair at the sides, and a little longer/wilder on top. The so called "faux-hawk" is extremely popular (google zayn malik, he's a great example of how it should be done) I think you could totally rock it: you got nice, thick hair, but if you put it all up, it's a little childish... But again, it's just a suggestion, but I think one that girls would appreciate.

I'm glad you agree on the sunglasses. I know a 100% sure that girls won't like the pair you picked before. I knew guys with such glasses, and all the girls laughed behind their backs.

glad I could help!

Now slim fitted jeans seems more appealing, along with posture another big trend is fitted clothing. I am going out with a lady friend of mine shortly to dress myself up a bit, and I intend to buy some darker slimmer jeans (And probably Vans or something like that while I'm at it)

As for eyebrow plucking . . hmm. I'll heavily consider it. Maybe make a post in the future and get some more opinions on it. I still have time. But yeah I almost have a bit of a uni going on here -.-

I'll consider the Faux-Hawk as well. I do have nice hair (Lulz who needs modesty) and while I just got it cut recently, the style i have now is pretty basic. I'll take a look into the faux hawk as well. I am kind of excited about it actually, I like trying new things.

Thanks for your opinions :) And more are welcome ofc.

I don't like skinny jeans per se, but I've come to realize that I can just buy regular jeans, like relaxed fit, in a size that's slightly too small, and it has the same skinny jean type fit. But be careful, because if you are heavier this may not be the best look for you, nor will it feel comfortable.

Here's some eyebrow tips. Get some good tweezers, oddly enough there are cheap ones out there that actually don't pinch the eyebrow hair very well. The area between your eyebrows should have NO hair. Pluck the hell out of that area, but don't make the gap too big.

Eyebrow hairs will grow up your forehead, down on your eyelids, and off to the sides of your temples. You can pluck all these errant hairs as well. But be sure to honor the natural shape of your eyebrows, and don't try to get to creative when it comes to giving them a custom shape. Sometimes I get lazy and will just put some shaving cream around the edges of my eyebrows and run the razor from the outside toward the eyebrow to remove those errant hairs. But plucking will make them go away longer.

As far as thick or bushy eyebrows, this is personal pet peeve of mine, although some girls actually like it on guys. However, this is also easily fixed. Take some clippers or beard trimmers with a guard, and just run it across your eyebrows. NOT too short though! That will help to thin them out and get rid of all the longer stray hairs and give you a crisp clean cut look.

Mmm well the two things I am bouncing around at the moment are the eyebrows and the Faux-Hawk Haircut. I've always been kinda proud of my eyebrows, they give me a defined and 'no-bullshit' kind of look. Although I do have a bit of Uni-brow going on in the middle there; not something you could notice without taking a good harsh look.

And the faux-hawk look is something I might be able to rock. It could be great or horrible.

Hell either could be great or horrible; so more opinions on this will be lovely!

Eyebrows do grow back eventually right?

Yes eyebrows grow back. Shave that uni-brow! :D

Faux-hawk are fine, must suite your facial features though.
