Hi guys,

A few months ago my watch died.. Now I've to buy a new 1. Does anybody know where to buy cheap, quality watches. My clothes are casual.. So I'm not looking for sport-watches.

The last time I had a 'Diesel'. Girls told me it was simple but good-looking.

Thanks,
Sedutchion

I bought mine online but I shopped around in the mall. department stores are great cos you have women walking by that you can poll for opinions "How does this look on me". Shop in the store but buy online. Its amazing the deals you can find and if you ask them to ship it to you as a gift, its sometimes free shipping and/or customs (depending where its coming from)

Watches are an excellent tool, I wear mine on my right hand so that its really prominent when i shake hands/fist pump whatever.

Toxic and Nixon watches are fairly innexpensive. I personally like watches with wide bands. I use them more as bracelets, since I always have my phone to tell me the time.

I saw an alpha the other night wearing an all white watch, which was obviously peacocking. Just like wearing shades with all white frames. A white watch doesn't match anything, but it stands out like a diamond in a goats ass and is sure to draw a female's attention.

No problem, just make sure you find an online store thats an "authorized dealer" so you know your are not getting a fake. The best way I find good dealers is by asking friends that collect watches. the other way is to go onto the watchmaker's website, they should have online distributors listed there.

We have similar taste - Ive had my eye on the Nixon all black Corporal series. FYI did you know that you can buy the bands seperately from Nixon? That way you just switch em out if you want a different look. They have a really cool gun metal band that goes with almost every watch in their collection.

The all white is a cool idea since all black is the new trend, thatll definitely make you stand out. Thanks for that tip!

I also can corroborate about shopping in stores and buying online. My watch was like $82 at the store, then I went online and it was $65 on the website. But you also have to factor in shipping costs. Sometimes I'd rather pay five or ten extra bucks just to have the convenience of trying the item in the store and getting it right then, rather than waiting or not knowing exactly what I'll be getting.

One time I got a timex digital watch and they sent it to me with a dead battery. I emailed them and they sent gave me a credit for like ten bucks, but the battery replacement place charged me more than that to replace it. So that's an example of getting a watch online and it not being what you expected.

Yeah, in the Netherlands we have sites with labels (or hallmarks, i don't know the exact word for it). So if you have 1 of those sites you'll get what you bought online!

Try TJ Maxx. they always seem to change up what they have. I have found some nice watches cheaper. I am a bit of a watch aficionado my self an enjoy adding it to my peacocking. I keep my bling simple. but I have some fun watches too that always seem to get noticed. The Rubber slap watch in orange or lt blue always gets attention an they want to play with it.

Yea, your watch should either convey status (being expensive), or be stylish (looks really cool), or gets attention (colorful, peacocking).

So many AFCs wear watches that are not really any of these. Beat up wrist bands and scratched faces. Made from cheap metal, non-brand names, or god forbid, some nerdy-ass Casio digital watch.

I keep looking for the brand 'Diesel'. My opinion is that they're the best looking. Found some watches:

http://store.diesel.com/nl/timeframes_c ... 150bs.html
http://store.diesel.com/nl/timeframes_c ... 176xa.html (Looks a bit cheap..)

If you want an attractive watch that will still work in 40 years time buy a Seiko or if you don't have that much to spend, get a Lorus, which will certainly be cheaper than a Diesel watch. I'm looking to pick up an Omega Seamaster with this years Tax Rebate.

I don't know if you guys are like me, but to me a watch is just a bracelet that tells time. I wouldn't go out and buy a bracelet that I'll still have when I'm 60. I buy a watch that will match certain colored outfits or that just looks dope. I don't need it to be water resistant down to 80 feet depth or made of solid titanium. It's just an accessory I use as a form of jewelry and peacocking. All things be equal, I'd either wear no watch or use my digital Timex watch which has a bunch of useful features on it like stopwatch, indiglo, compass, and date.
