I've been thinking of getting my ears pierced for a while? Would it look good or just make me look gay? Also, what else could I do to improve my style? I wear really plain clothes. I wear solid color T-shirts, Solid color hoodies, dark blue/black jeans. I don't do anything to peacock at the moment. I weigh 185 at around 15% bodyfat (average), am 6'2, and 19 years old.

Start with accessories (a chain, a watch, some bracelets, maybe a ring) have something a girl can touch and compliment you on.

A good idea is to take your favorite style of music, and look at what the musicians wear. Music is one of the biggest influences of style.

Well you can certainly get your ear pierced but you have to back it up with the choice of clothes. What you're wearing is very generic and plane as you pointed out. What kind of style appeals to you? Also, the biggest mistake I see boys do is wear clothes several sizes too big. Your body type and composition is ok, you can wear any style you like. Find a celebrity whose style you like and copy that for a start. Then we can get into the specifics and combinations, peacocking and all that. Post some pics of styles you like and we can advise you how to pull it off, what kind of hairstyle would compliment it, etc.

Your haircut is in nowhere land... either grow your hair and style it into a funkier style (like a slight mohawk) or shave it completely (buzz cut).

Earring... not that original... I'd go for an eyebrow piercing (or maybe 2 or 3 parallel rings).

Your clothes sound a bit plain... so you should aim to wear one item that is more striking and interesting (without going overboard). This could be a pair of shoes, a piece of jewelry... etc.
Make sure your jeans fit well.

You're a good looking bloke... Sorting out your dress style will get you lots of attraction.

Find an actor, singer or personality who looks slightly like you, whose style you dig, and whom you know is popular with chicks. This could even be one of your friends, but it works better with known personnalities, as their style becomes archetypal, and chicks are already conditionned to like it. Then, simply imitate their style...
You can even copy their mannerisms.

'Hope this helps

I think a lighter color would be better.

+1 on Agent Juliet's assessment of your hair. Even if you kept the same cut you could style it more. Go to a good salon and tell the receptionist you want to talk to someone who is good with men's styles, and get some feedback from a couple of stylists. If it's a good store they'll go out of their way to tell you, even if your hair isn't long enough to cut yet.

Do whatever you want with ear rings, they aren't seen as gay anymore as long as they are simple, like studs.

Forget about peacocking. It's simply one tool for a guy to use, and it is one that is easily-overplayed and/or over-relied on.

Your clothes are really plain. Don't wear plain colored T-shirts and hoodies unless you are going to the gym. Plus, that type of clothes doesn't really go well with an ear ring or two.

Every piece of clothes you wear tells a story...at least to women it does. Your clothes currently say you like comfort and lack sophistication. When shopping for clothes, don't think "does this make me look cool?" think "what does this tell women?" I also prefer the layered look, because it is more eye-catching and it has more than one chapter to the "story." If you look at the store-front mannequins in the mall, they almost always have layer upon layer of clothing.

Think of clothes as an investment in yourself and an investment in your future. Be willing to make the investment in terms of time, and set a monthly budget for clothes (shopping is also a great place for opinion openers).

Ultimately, you want to develop a complete look, which includes hair, accessories and shoes. You want everything to be congruent with your personality as well (it's easier than it seems).

You are tall, and plain clothes (especially that hoodie) are just going to look like a tube on you. In order to make the most of your height, you should be trying to add depth, and also draw attention to the fact that you are in shape.

To get rid of the "tube" look, you should try layering. You can wear a T or henley under a shirt, under a sweater or light jacket. You can work in patterns, but try to keep it to one pattern at first (no stripes over prints). Combinations that draw attention to the V shape will make you look slimmer in the waist and more powerful in the shoulders.

I personally don't like hoodies, here are some alternatives:

A sweater under a harrington, Google "Steve McQueen Harrrington" to see how a master of cool does it

A shawl collar cardigan, Google "Daniel Craig shawl collar cardigan" to see how good this can look on someone of your build.

You don't show your jeans, but make sure they are slim (not skinny) and not baggy.

For your skin color you should really not be wearing black and white together, your coloring cannot handle the contrast. Stick to slightly muted colors and red.

I hope this helps!

find something women will take notice of, for me it's my tattoo's and the clothes i wear! piercing your ear/ears would be a good move, and wear brighter colors as well, just look at everyone else and do something different but make sure you feel comfortable doing it at the same time!

Shaven head might suit you. Also lip piercing.

You remind me of Channing Tatum, dude!
Google him and check out his style, it might give you some ideas.

I know the OP posted this months back, so I wasn't going to comment, but I noticed someone mentioned fashionbeans.com. Great advice.

Simply because I think it is great to focus on one area of game. I started with fashion. I just researched it for about a month non-stop, until I became really confident in being able to put together lots of different outfits.

Now it's natural and I always look and feel great when I'm out :)
