| First, I highly recommend you get a conversational stack so you are prepared, I use situations from my life as routines and base them on the information below, I will have an example set up in the 3rd part.
How conversations works
You give information then the other person gives you information then you reply by giving more information and so on and so on.
Tip - Try to relate, don't just ask a whole string of questions, questions are fine but just straight questioning is very bad, its more like and interview than a conversation because you are not adding anything to the conversation.
I'm sure you have heard it all before
So let me get to the real meat of the art of conversation, the stuff nobody ever tells you, I'm going to break conversation down and what to say (as in subjects that work!) nobody ever really teaches you this.
lets look at the different areas of conversation
1. Story telling.
As far as I can see this is the most inportant, without stories your conversations tend to be boring. Stories should not be long and drawn out 1 or 2 minutes will be fine.
Your stories should be about things thats happened to you or someone you know, stick to Stuff you find funny
Crazy things thats happened
Gossip < Talking about stuff people has done, doing or are going to do (you can talk about shitty things people did or stuff that annoys you) but don't be missery. This can also be about stuff friends have done or are doing, just general talk about your social group but this is more for when you actually know people.
Sticking to funny and crazy stuff thats happened is a good guide line, gossip has to be learned so to not come across as negitive.
You can fit all your GROUNDING stories (about what you have done in your life, places you've been etc), DHV stories and FRAMING routines into this section.
e.g below is a framing story I've actually used infield with excellent results, in otherwords I've got a laugh from it and it opened people up to be more friendly, this story is true aswell.
"the last time I was in this club, I seen a girl walk past with a cool hair cut, so I said (hey, I like your hair) as she walked past, you know just being nice, well she turned around with a big smile and said Thank you, but at the same time she hit my friends drink out of his hand and it went all over her dress, she then looked at us like we had just thrown the drink over her, like super angry looken as if we had to say sorry or she was going to hit us or something lol, I had to laugh when my friend said (ok so you knock my drink out of my hand and your angry!) she didnt know what to do, I just laughed and she walked off, poor girl I understand her being annoyed but blaming us lol what a dick!, some people just need to chill out and stop being so wound up all the time and just relax and be cool!"
Thats just an example but hopefully you get the idea.
Example ways to tranistion into stories
"Thats reminds me..."
"Check this out..."
2. Your Thoughts and Feelings on things.
The title speaks for itself, its what you think about things, your likes and dislikes and your opinions, things that fascinate you.
Example ways to tranistion
"I think that..."
"Well what I feel about it is..."
"What I find crazy about it is..."
3. Random Comments
Very similar to above only you are voiceing it in a different way, this deals with observations.
"I think this movie is shit..."
"Look at the shape of that guy, hes a complete drunken mess lol..."
4. Sharing knowledge
Same again the title speaks for itself, this is the information portion of conversation, facts, things you know on the subject.
5. Imagination Projections and Exaggerating
This is where you fantasies about things, you can either be negitive or positive, but try to make them funny, or have a "That would be awsome!" reaction.
"Imagine she came over with her friend and both of them started going down on you...Like I would start smacking their ass and sucking their tits like I'd never sucked tits before..."
Awesome!
SUBJECTS THAT MOST INTEREST WOMAN
Gossip about people (this can be about work, family, friends and your social life, anything that fits into story telling)
Relationships
Sex
Family stuff (awe stories, funny stories)
Social life and stuff about where you live, what annoys you about it or what you love about it, likes and dislikes
Likes and Dislikes about different clubs and social meeting points, and reasons why
Differences between men and women
Travel and places you've been too and stories about stuff that happened (see story telling)
Ambitions, What you both want to do in life and what we are doing about it
Drill
My best advice is to start listening to Joe Rogans podcast 15 minutes here and there when you can, fit what they are saying into the catagories of conversation, do the same when you hear people talk.
Hope this helps, conversation is much more broader than whats given but its enough to get you on your way thats for sure! look out for part to coming soon, in that post I will be focusing on using questions.
Any questions, ask away.
