An extremely hot bud lite promoter won a twerk contest at a bar. While she was twerking, she kept making eye contact with me. After the contest, I introduced myself to her. I talked to her and had her laughing for a few minutes, but she told me she had to keep promoting. When she did a lap around the bar and didn't come back to me, I took that as a hint she wasn't that into me, so I moved on (she may have just been promoting to me anyway, so whatever).

The next day I see her at a different bar and don't recognize her. She's not in her ridiculously tight and attractive bud light attire. She stares at me when I walk into the bar, and I meet her gaze for a few seconds. She looks away, and then I look away. I look back at her, and then she looks at me again for a few seconds (quite a long time to look at someone you don't know).

She's surrounded by three guys and one girl. I say through the wall of people around her that I think we've met. She agrees. I recall her name to her, and I talk to the group for about a minute, establishing that she's not currently working. There's a pause in the conversation. She says to me, "Well, it was nice seeing you again", somewhat dismissively. I say you too and walk away.

How should I have handled this? Based on her staring at me, she was into me on some level, and walking away (to never return) was a bad decision on my part. Here are some alternatives I've come up with in my head.

a) I should have said "Nice seeing you as well; why don't we meet up later? What's your number?"
b) "Nice seeing you as well. I'm leaving here and heading to xyz bar; why don't you guys head over with me?"
c) Kept the conversation going and not allowed the pause to happen.
d) other.

You need to have some rapport going before you can suggest the next step. Had rapport and a flirtatious vibe been built and you two found out some data about each other, then you could have just taken her #. Up your verbal game. She may have been into you physically from her stares but when you talked to her it lowered her buying temperature. Nothing that practice and honing your game can't fix.

Don't be so swayed by the smoke and mirrors of women that are all done up. That same woman is walking down the street on Wednesday bored out of her mind. Something to think about.
