Hey, first post and I'd love some insight on this one. I'll try to keep it brief:

Girl from work and I hooked up a few weeks back, spent the night no F close (not for lack of trying on my end) because according to her: 1) I just go out of a pretty serious relationship, which is true 2) We work together and she doesn't want to be that girl at the office (i.e. she's smart).

Ever since then I've been keeping it light and flirty, not coming off too needy and desperate but we've been texting here and there and keeping it professional (ish) at work like we both agreed to do. Thing is, I'm leaving this job soon and that was really her main concern.

Moving forward, is this salvageable in the short term at all? OR should I just continue the light banter now and keep her slightly interested enough so that when I do leave I can revisit this one? Don't want to back myself into a corner and get too eager too fast and come off like a horny begging puppy fresh out of a relationship at the same time I'm not trying to lose that spark so I feel like I do need to keep it going in a way, any thoughts or anyone else have experience navigating a work place romance?

With regard to your analysis of this scenario you seem like a highly intelligent dude so no matter how this one turns out, it seems like you're good in the long term in regards to navigating the whole women thing.

As far as the particular situation you found yourself in, her dismissals were pretty much standard ASD/LMR and could potentially have been pre-empted by you with earlier mentions of your discreetness and how you see sex as a natural thing between two people who want enjoyment etc or by blowing through the objections at the time with comments in this regard.

When you think about it her main concern of you working there is really a smokescreen because let's face it what's stopping you from simply texting a former work buddy about it after you leave.

As for the future, keep it light, if you're slated to be out of the company soon get her out when you leave and escalate to the close. If you'll still be in the company for a while, get her out sooner than later and blow through objections. For the most part she seems to want it. Downplay your emotions and let her know you're over the ex. Have fun with it all.

Thanks man! Appreciate the insight from someone more seasoned. I did just get out of a relationship, so I'm still dusting off some cob webs but I do recall some basic things from college where natural game was my primary tool (still is really). I figured this was the best approach, I definitely want to keep fueling the chemistry though so I have about two months of that and then I'm out of there, but in with this lovely lady. It's probably good practice too to have this girl as a nice "long term" type of situation to slowly thaw so I can focus on some short term closes, polishing other areas of my game, practicing new stuff, etc. on the side. I'll continue with the hot and cold, fun and flirty texting. Definitely not giving her all of my attention, just enough to keep me on the radar.
