Been talking to this girl for a while, went out on a lunch date a week ago which went well, I felt there was a connection, however when I asked her out again today, this is how it went:

me: since my cars out of service, how about you bring me to lunch tomorrow? ill buy if you drive
her: deallll
me: its a date
her: can it be a friends date?
clearly this is a problem... Any advice?

She also said that she was interested in someone else and didn't want to give them the wrong idea..... I know she doesn't have a bf so I can definitely compete. Please help.

First, don't use the word "date". It sounds needy/desperate. I think that's the reason why PUAs call it "Day 2". AFCs go on "dates".

Again, never mention the word "date".

"Remember what we talked about during our lunch date last Tuesday.." BAD
"Remember what we talked about when we met for lunch last Tuesday.." good

This is what you did wrong

1.You put a label on it.
By calling it a date you already stated your intentions. This sin't fun for women because....

2.You left no mystery to yourself.
a casual hangout with no strings attached is a lot more appealing than saying date. The "date" is where you
are suppose to run all you routines and tricks.

3.You were too nice
Instead of saying it's a date you couldve said something funny/cocky
a. "Make sure you where something nice"
b. "Don't think this is a date or anything. you not really my type"

(a.) will make her qualify herself for you
(b.) will disqualify you as a potential suitor and will throw her off


Unfortunately you are already in the friend zone and their is no return. My advice is to forget about her, move on and start over

Embrace the friend zone. Its always on. You need to game other girls and escalate with this one through kino and talking sexual around her. Her being comfortable with you is good, just escalate at a slow to moderate pace. You don't want to come off creepy, just have fun and don't focus too much on her. Some good points made in the other posts.

I can think about 3 scenarios that you can do in the date:

1 you accept what she said that is just a friend's date and during the date you do not escalate but you kiss her ass during the whole date showing how nice you are. (bad idea it will not get you anywhere)

2 you accept what she said, and go to the date and treat her as he was one of your guys friends, meaning that you'll be there checking out other girls, even tell her wow look at that girl she is hot! I mean you act exactly as if you are with your best friends. If you want to approach other girl, go and do that in front of her.
(good idea you'll have fun and she might feel jealous of you checking out other girls)

3 you go to the date and escalate, and escalate blaming her all the time for making you loose control (also good idea, you might loose a friend but gain a girlfriend that day)

Don't agree with anything here at all. The only thing I would do even remotely like this would be to hang out and use her as a wing. Do not go on any "date" with her at all.
