Took out this one girl and we had a great time. She brought up our next date. I said yes, that I'd let her know when I was free. That day came, but she said she was going out of town. And we decided to wait till finals were over. So I texted her today and asked her if had been 'liberated' from her finals. She laughed and said "no not till tomorrow." My response: "oo, that's a tease! But let's grab some food sometime. Down?" She said she would be if she weren't going out of town. I haven't texted her back yet. Should I and if so, what should my response be? Also, I'm trying to work on my texting game. Some girls take hours to respond. Should I do the same sometimes?

My txt game needs work too, but I would say your text ending in "down?" was a bit too soft. I would let her dangle for a while as I think she seems to have put you in "back burner" status, AKA if she has nothing better to do.

I would then let her cool, go have fun, then txt her sometime your out with other friends and could care less if she responds with "hey shortstop(or neg nickname), I'll be at ____ with some friends, you should come." and be done with it.
