As Sparroww said.
If some connection is there, you shoud do enough kino so you don't fall in the friendzone.
For the texxting, I find two tactics effective.
1. You text her ALOT, every day, or every second day.
But she has to be willing to reply for this to work, and you need to make her laugh via txt. When she gets used to that, you go awol - after 3 or 4 day she will probably send you a text, something like "Heey whaat you doing?/Where are you?" to which you don't reply right away, or you don't even replay and wait for second text which will be more serious like "Why are you ignoring me?" She might even call you in between. You don't answer to calls.
And then, maybe a day later after that text, you send her something like "I've been really busy, but i have some time tomorrow if you'd like to buy me a cup of tee/w/e

" It's playfull, shows that you don't give a f*** about her caring bout you. And that will confuse her
2. You keep the interaction minimum - you initiate texting once, then wait for her to initiate it, and only then you sent that random text "hey how u been" again. But this one is risky if she has low or no interest.
I personally find the 1. quite effective. By texting her a lot she thinks she's in control and doesn't consider you dangerous future lover material, but when you cut her off she gets insecure. One more thing to add to 1.,
you can initiate as many times as you want and not come across as needy if you cut the conversation first!
YOU: heeey hb how have you been?
HB: heey great, you?
YOU: Awesome. What you doing for the weekend?
HB: Nothing much. You?
YOU: Planning on going to the beach/party/somwhere with my friends. Sorry gotta run. text you tomorrow/friday/..
HB: ok by
You tell her you have something to do, you don't invite her with you right away as she is used to being invited, and YOU decide when the text interaction will continue. She might text you before that day, she might think of you or texting you, or you text her on the selected day.
Each case is good. You keep the control AND interaction.
