So there was this hb 8 that I was gaming and we were really hitting it off...till she mentioned that she has a boyfriend. And I messed it up by comparing myself to him and she got pissed off and stopped talking to me.
Now she had broken up with him for a few weeks now so I'm thinking about having another go, how should I go about this?

start conversation with some in-built jokes in your previous conversations.
OR
use ping text techniques to calibrate her and then when she responds to either of those, then re-initiate your game.
(a little google search will familiarize you with ping texts)

Example Ping text :-
" Hey i just wanted to touch base, in case you get rich ;-) "

etc.
Something that is a statement (rather than a question) in which you dont lose value even if she does not respond back.
