Alright long story short, lab partner is reaally into me, I originally gamed her accidentally, I didn't really want her and spent a whole bunch of time negging her and being cocky funny, which she seemed to like. Yesterday she got my number off of me and we've been texting all day, with the fact that i want to bone her finally coming out in the open. In the beggining it was easy and fun, but like it happens to everyone when a girl texts back right away, we respond right away and spent all day texting. By the end of the night she said "you seem much less gutsy now, i think we stretched this for too long today, its loosing excitment, ill talk to you later"
the conversation ended with me sounds right to me, night, and her saying "bye captain " which is the nickname she gave me,

so is this fully screwed? Are the next steps brigning her back to my place or is it too soon? How does one bounce back from being less gutsy? I don't want to keep getting sexual over text, I feel like I'd be better in person

Sounds like a shit test to me. If she wants you to make a move, do it. BTW, texting never worked for me personally, as I cannot judge her attitude/tonality through emoticons and lol's. Call her up to see what's really going on. Taking her on an adventure where both of you have loads of fun will make the move a lot smoother.

Exactly it sounded like a shit test to me too, that's why I kinda blew it off till the next day, show her that I don't care (hope it was the right move ) for sure the next move will involve some sort of adventure, I won't see her again until next tuesday, I feel like planning for this weekend might be too soon, or just man up since I got the place to myself...

It's difficult to say from the limited info. She may be playfully flirting with you or maybe wants for you to pin her against the wall for a passionate make out. You'll need to find that bit out.
If you know her well enough, the weekend could be perfect. I guess you plan to bring her over to your place, so during your "adventure" hint that there may be a bonus at the end of the day, provided she can score enough points (girls love suspense). Escalate all the way through.
If the "less gutsy" topic shows up again, let her know that you live your life according to your rules, not her's (but that's a standard shit test protocol... don't know why I'm telling you this)
