So I am gaming an HB7. It is going well we had a good conversation. I decide to go and ask if we could meet up on campus sometime and what her number is. She said that she isn't comfortable giving her number to people she has just met. But if I want to see her that she studies here all the time.

How should I look at this? And does getting her number at first really matter?

Could be an IOD. But it's also a common precautionary measure. It usually just means you didn't establish the requisite amount of trust and comfort, i.e. rapport.

I dunno, you could ask her how she gets to know people if she doesn't give out her number. Or try to get her facebook. The thing is, you're usually not winning the girl over at that point, so it's probably not going to end well. That's why you need to work your game on comfort and trust first, before worrying about number closing.
