At school there was a group of 3 girls in my class, so I decided to open with the cheating girlfriend opener. My body language was good and I displayed great confidence. It's sort of a small classroom with a solid 34 students so pretty much everyone could here so naturally I caught the other girls in the class attention. I so for a solid 30 min a pretty much owned the conversation of the class. The but what started to happen was they would start to discuss this topic with their individual groups rather than keep the conversation going with the class, and I often tried to pull them back and keep attention but it got to the point that where I just felt needy so I let it go and ended up losing all attention in the room. For future reference how can I remedy this situation?

I wouldn't think too much into it. If you started the conversation and held everyone's attention for a while that shows a lot of good qualities. It's ok that people started discussing it in smaller groups, you will still be remembered as the initiator.

Maybe bring up another conversation next week in class? Or just casually talk to other people in your class since you are known as being social or w/e. I don't know if there's anything you could of done to hold everyones attention indefinitely. That would be sort of a negative action, needing SO much attention you have to constantly engage everyone in your conversation.

It's a class room, not a party in your apartment...

There's an easy remedy to that situation. You should have used that time when everyone is talking amongst themselves to keep talking to the girl you were interested in. You would have had pretty high DHV at that point. Did you just sit there in silence after the groups started talking or did you try to continue the convo with the HBs?

You don't have to always be the center of attention. The fact you initiated interaction is awesome, but you need to be the one who controls the flow of the conversation vs being the one who is always talking. So you started conversation about jealous gf's or whatever. Now from there you need to be asking yourself, "ok, where else can i take this conversation?" Listen to what's being said, and control where the conversations go. Let the people talk amongst themselves, but give them topics to discuss.
