If I'm talking to two girls who are siting on a bench, am I supposed to stay up on my feet during the whole conversation?

I remember that at one point I crouched during playing some game with one of the girls which I think wasn't a good idea.

What would be the correct body language I should've displayed in that kind of a situation? I mean, which position is the best to approach girls that are sitting down.

Opening Seated Sets

Upon first opening a seated set, everything seems fine. You stand
near the set, running material that is apparently well received. But as
time passes, you begin to lose their attention Where did you go wrong?
In standing, while the rest of the set is seated, you have less physical
comfort than they do. This betrays a subtext that the set is more
important to you than you are to the set. Thus, as time passes, they will
perceive you as having progressively lower value. A high-value male
doesn't put himself in uncomfortable situations just so he can seek
rapport with others.

Unfortunately, you can't simply approach a seated set and join them
at their table. To do so would be try-hard. So what is the field-tested
best practice for opening a seated set?

1: Open the set (as you would for a standing set).
2. Part of the way into the opener, use a false time constraint.
3: Continue the opener as you grab a chair and sit down with the
set. It's important to be talking at the same time that you sit
down.
4. Stack to your next routine, then stand again as if to leave (a
nonverbal FTC), while you speak.
5. Sit again as you FTC, then stack.

Knowing the steps is not enough. It takes repeated practice in the
field to tighten up your ability to open, false-time-constrain, and stack
smoothly. Often it isn't the techniques themselves that matter most
but the manner in which they are executed

Yeah, but the thing is that I was out in the city on a bench (with no chairs nearby).

I suppose the best thing for me to do is to give myself a 5 minute time constraint and leave afterwards.

Say to the girl "give me your hand" lift it upwards till she stands and put slight turning pressure on her wrist so she does a twirl (girls love doing this for some reason) as she twirls step behind her in the same direction as she is turning and sit in her seat pulling her onto your knee.Probably best for night game though.
