This girl and I have known each other since elementary school but we didn't become greater friends until late highschool/early college. She drunkenly tried to hit on me when we were drinking once but I kind of shrugged it off because I know she wanted a relationship and I didn't. A few months later she went into a relationship then studied abroad for 4-5months so I hadn't seen her in awhile.
I invited her to a party a few days ago and she showed up looking REAL good (She doesn't usually wear very tight clothes) and pretty drunk, which was rare because i've only seen her drink a handful of times. We talked for awhile in my room about random stuff while drinking. One main topic was me saying she's changed (since she doesn't typically drink or dress up that much). Also, she sort of mentioned she broke up with her boyfriend (never said explicitly) and had been down lately. This is where I have trouble reading the situation. I don't know if she came because she knew she could count on me to comfort her as a friend or because she was looking for a rebound. I didn't want us to drunkenly hookup because thats something I wouldn't do with a girl i've known this long. What troubled me was I never saw many signs that showed she was still attracted to me. I was touching her around the waist, staring deep in her eyes, trying to just get a sexual tone across (even though I wasn't going to act at the time) and she never really gave me much back in return other than the hello/goodbye hug, some touching when we were taking pictures, and occasional preening.
We're getting lunch tomorrow and I don't really know how to proceed from here since this is my first time actually wanting to form a relationship. We always get along really well, many common interests, have a very natural way with each other, and have always had sexual tension (at least until the other night).
