Hey everyone I'm Jedi and I'm looking to meet some new friends and possibly some new mentors.. People that I can give and take from..

I am 31 years old, and I live in Portland, Maine (which is quite the college town). It's an artsy town filled with coffee shops, micro breweries, clubs, art galleries and tattoo parlors. There is a bar strip on Fore St. that is NOTORIOUS for pick up.

I was a really shy and nerdy kid growing up, didn't have much "interaction" with women until I was roughly the age of 17. I got girls few and far between, but nothing I would brag about. That is why I got into pick up, I wanted to raise the bar; set my standards higher. Become a better man, one who gets noticed by the kind of women who "don't notice". The snobby hot chicks. I started reading Neil Strauss, then got into reading Mystery.. Then I picked up the book "How To Succeed With Women". Great stuff, they all differ a bit in opinions, but hey, we all do!

As far as what approaches I like to use, I would say it depends on the set and the situation. Now I am still new at this stuff and would really like some real introduction first hand into this wonderful realm. I usually go with the cold approach, just walk right up and start talking, as i am not as shy as I was when I was younger.

My passions and hobbies include:
Listening, writing, and performing music. I am a vocalist and lyricist.. The type of music I am into is wide ranged, I am very open minded. The kind of music I play is hardcore & metal, some rock. I love getting tattooed, I have many; a right full sleeve, my stomach, neck, and left calf. I enjoy cooking and eating, I am a vegetarian teetering on the edge of veganism. I am also Straight Edge, meaning i abstain from tobacco, drugs, and alcohol; vehemently. I love to read, watch movies, and I am also a graffiti/street artist of over 15 years. YES I write on walls, signs, trains, and other inanimate and animate objects..

My goal here on this forum is to gain more wisdom; I live to learn and love to give advice when I can.. Experience is the best teacher and i know that not everything works for everybody I just hope that I can meet some good people and have a good time!

If you want to know more about me, just ask!

~peace

Hey! You know, this is very astute, because some people on here are stuck on "what's better". Some things are better than others, some just don't plain work at all, but I'm going to go ahead and say that literally every person who runs game has a little different system than the next. I've read what you're referring to. In fact, one of my jobs is at a book store, so I get a major discount, and I honestly own TONS of books on the subject. Each one is different, and I don't recommend them to people based on what has worked best for me. These books explain much the same thing as each other, but will present it in a different way. It's sort of like a "universal truth" type of thing that is interpreted by different people who explain it different ways.

Person 1 will read HTSWW and be totally enlightened.
Person 2 will read HTSWW and be baffled, but will read The A Game, and be enlightened in the same way, where as it was just gobbly-gook for Person 1.

So my recommendation is to keep reading (not just buying books, but also posts on here), and get as many perspectives as you can, so that you can piece together what perspectives work best for you, and you develop your own style.
