So I am a noob, I am ready to learn.

How I got here:

I am 32, taking this 4 week review course(~30 people). In that course there a couple of cute girls but, 1 (Amy) that is just my type. I completely ignore her, never talking or making eye contact with her for 2 weeks. One day after class I go to train station and I am waiting for my train. In walks Amy also taking the same train. As she walks by the bench I am sitting on, I pretend like I have never seen her before and make no effort to make eye contact or say hi. She says "hi" in a very shy tone while walking by my bench and I just nod my head.

As the train arrives I go up to her and introduce myself. We both get on the train but, I don't sit next to her. I get of on my stop without saying good bye to her. The next day, I hear through the grapevine that Amy was wondering why I didn't sit next to her on the train.

Now when class ends she looks for and waits for me so we can walk to train station together. This time I sit next to her and we make small talk. I act unimpressed by everything she say. She seems perturbed by this.

That night 6 of us from class (3 guys and 3 girls including Amy) meet up at a bar for drinks. I barely make eye contact with her most of the night and go out of my way to talk to everybody in our group except her. The other 2 girls basically move and force her to sit next to me at the bar.

Then we go on the dance floor and I am dancing with the other 2 girls, when Amy comes over and starts dancing (grinding) with me. When we are done dancing she is giggling and smiling and proclaims out loud that she thinks I am a very good dancer ( I can't dance even a little bit). She is hugging me sitting on my lap, we end up talking a little more. So at the end of the night, I get her number.

The next day I call her up to ask her if she wants to go out with me. She says "I don't like you in that way".

And I am like WTF?

So now I realized whatever I am doing is wrong. I am ready to learn what to do. Where should I start?
