'The Saddest Story In The World'
"Many years ago I heard a story about an 18 year old boy and an 18 year old girl. A boy was sitting on a park bench one day admiring the scenery of the lake and all the nature that surrounded him, it was beautiful. Then one day, he was sitting on the bench like every other day and then one day, a beautiful girl walked walked past him. They both instantly felt something, a connection if you will, and they met each others eyes and time stood still for them. As if they were meant to be. The boy said "Hi" and the girl replied "Hello". The boy offered her a seat and they began talking. It was like fate. The boy and girl spent hours and hours talking about life, the things they enjoyed, what kind of music they listened to...they both laughed and enjoyed one another in their presence that it felt that nothing could tear them apart, their hearts both shared the same interests as the other, some say even their heartbeat were the same rhythm. The boy and girl talked everyday for 3 days, everyday from morning until sunset, they would both meet on the park bench everyday at the same time and talk and gaze into others eyes, as if fate had meant for them to be together. Then one day, the boy told the girl that if they were truly meant to be together, they would not see each other ever again and if fate had really intended for them to be together forever, they would find each other somehow along the path destiny had intended for them. The girl and boy agreed, and they parted ways...
5 months passed, then 8 months, then a year. Then exactly a year after they had met, the boy and girl walked passed each other...they met eyes and carried on moving, the boy and the girl felt something inside themselves, that same connection and wondering where they knew the other from. The couldn't figure out where, so they just carried on. 4 Years passed, they were both students who went to the same school. They walked past each other again, but they could not remember who the other was so they went about their business. 10 Years passed. 15 Years. Then 20 years passed...Then one day, the boy and girl, now in adulthood and happily married, managed to somehow walk past each other again down the same street. They both met eyes but still carried on walking. They both still had that same feeling in their hearts that they cold swear they knew the other from somewhere, but nothing ever happened and moved on. Many more years passed on, and then , the 2 people were now old and humble. Finally, with destiny's last attempt to bring them together, the man went to go sit his park bench when he was a young man. Like clockwork, the old women went for her daily stroll on the path in the park. The old man and the women felt a connection for one last time in each others presence, the man turned around and the old women looked at him slowly. They acknowledged each other finally...but, once again...the boy and girl now old and forgetful, carried on with their business and the connection was once again broken...The very last time that the old man saw the women, was not in the street or in the park, but in a cold coffin. She had passed away. He didn't know the women but out of respect for her family he said his goodbyes to her. Then suddenly, it all came back to the old man, he then remembered who the girl was. It was the girl he met at the park all those years ago when he felt a love and strong connection like nothing ever before! The girl that fate had entwined for him, all those times he saw that girl in the street and never acknowledged, was the girl destiny had given him, the same girl that shared the same interests as him! It was her! It was too late. She was gone now and would never come back. The man cried for 3 days and 3 nights over his foolishness and regret and to why he never took the chance to say "Hi" one last time, he regret it everyday, everyday, until he too, passed away...
The moral of this story is: Do not tempt fate and do not challenge your own destiny once its presented you with the grandest opportunity. It can slip out of your hands and out of your life, just like the girl in the story. " _________________ d-_-b
