Hello, everybody. I am, as you can see, new to the boards and new to game, so I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.
So I'll give you the summary, including the things I normally wouldn't share. I'm twenty five years old, still living at home with my mother, working part time as a bookkeeper for a public accountant who eventually wants me to become a partner in the firm, and going to school, also part time, to get my undergrad in accounting. Don't have too many friends at the moment, and certainly none who are comfortable walking into a club or bar and talking to girls. I am single and haven't dated since mid-2007. In fact I have, for most of my life, stayed the hell away from any sort of romantic or even strictly sexual entanglement with women. I'd like to change that. (Duh, right?

)
The fact that I am sitting at home on this Friday evening typing an introduction on this forum rather than going out and meeting new women is... the reason I am writing an introduction on this forum. Translation: Help! Certainly I want to be out and about tonight. Why aren't I? Well, fundamentally, a lack of courage. Apart from that, a lack of confidence, a lack of social skills, a lack of money, a lack of guy friends to join me, and a lack of halfway decent club clothes. I guess that covers my reasons. Reasons - they're a dime a dozen, aren't they? Still, I wonder if anyone here could offer some advice to a guy in my position. Of course, "Get out there and do it" is the best advice. But are there any practical suggestions for a guy who's going to be flying solo and who doesn't know how to make his way through the club scene? Where the hell do I start? I am really, really new to this. I could get in there 'cold' and hack it out, but it would be nice to have at least a few thoughts and a few tools to back me up.
At this point I'd like to invite anyone who feels interested to share his 'beginnings' story. What was your position when you started? Did you have to start from scratch, like me, or did you (for example) have a lucky encounter with a girl that made you want to learn more? What were some of your initial experiences? What are some 'life lessons' you learned along the way? Just an invitation.
Anyway, I ordered a copy of 'Bang' by Roosh and I'm still checking out some of the stuff Gambler et al offer. Can you guys suggest any particular resources from this website you found helpful? What about resources from elsewhere? Books, YouTube videos, websites, blogs, whatever. Load me up; I need everything, everything, everything I can get my hands on.
Oh, one more thing - low risk attempts at game. Suggestions? Like has anyone here tried gaming the clerk at the coffee shop, etc.
Thank you, gentlemen - best of luck in your gaming endeavors, and I look forward to joining the discussions.
