I'm 23 years old (be 24 soon) and a AFC. I've only dated twice in my life, the first date was only in high school which ended about 3 weeks. And the second was actually a 3 year long distance relationship and we've talked about marriage and what not. The sad thing is that I've met her online and only visited her in person twice. The majority of the relationship was through emails and phone calling (yeah, I'm a real loser).
During the relationship she mentioned over the phone that I was too needy and I didn't make her feel like a woman. The truth hurts so much that it left me with no confidence. But thats not the only one of many factors that made us broke up. It was the distance thing.
The really really sad thing was she was a 6.5 and I was a sophmore at Michigan State University, which was infested with 9s and 10s. Your probably thinking why I would date someone from a different state rather than get with all the HBs. Well the thing is I have approach anxiety and I don't have much friends that are girls. Only guy friends that I play D&D with.
I started reading The Game by Neil which helped me get up on my feet and gather a lot of information from PUAs (mostly from this forum). I go to bookstores to read up on self improvment and magazines on mens fashion. Starting on august 2010 I started exercising and got from 240 lbs to 215 lbs, my goal is 170 lbs (I'm 5'10" btw). I made a lot sacrifices such as getting rid of my video games, deleting my online mmo accounts, and selling all of my anime/manga. I felt this was very necessary because these things were my "escape" from reality and an excuse to not go out more.
The best thing in my life was my ex-gf's honesty about me. It helped me re-evaluate myself. And I guess you can also say that I'm a typical Asian nerd. What I hear from PUA, JT Tran, is that in 10 years there will be 24 million men in China (with the 1 child policy) with no hope of getting a woman at no point in time. I'm not exactly sure where the hell he got that source from but it felt like there was a little bit of truth in what he said. Currently, I'm taking a course in Japanese Anthropology and in there we've been though topics on the sex industry and the high technology how they effect younger men and their social isolation from the world. I guess I'm not allowed to post links as a noob. But if you type japanese sex doll on youtube (very first video) then you'll know what I mean.
I know it's disgusting...
The media depicts Asian men as nerdy or not sexual enough to be a potential mate. That's why as an Asian I feel its my duty to break the norm especially in America. I'm not angry at the media, I just think more Asian men need to take initiative.
But anyway, I'll stop talking. I appreciate those that took the time to read this. I really do
