Thirty-something guy in Osaka, looking to improve my skills. Been out of the game for a while but gettin' back in... (as you do)

Just made it up as I went along before, noob to most of the skills these forums are all about. I've got the confidence to open but my mid-game and closing sucks... I'm definitely the guy who starts out well, gets some IOIs but then blows it...

Funny true story. I just finished "The Game". That's what brought me here. And I was out last weekend and I met a girl who was giving me plenty of IOIs. But, like I said, I've got no mid-game. I quickly run out of material so I mention - cuz I think it is a good conversation piece - that I just read a book about a guy who learns how to pick up girls.

The girl loses it. "You want to play me? I'll play YOU!" she screams at me. Clearly I've hit a nerve, and maybe she's kinda wasted and emotional. "I hate men like you!" she tells me before turning her back and ignoring me completely.

noob lesson #1: Never tell them you read books on picking up girls...
