Hi guys,

I'm not sure whether this is right section but... Anyway I'm 24 years old, and I went to study abroad for 6 years. Thing is that I live in very small town and basically, during my studying abroad I lost contact with people I knew. Thing is that, in about 2 months I'm again going abroad on internship and again I will be alone in new town in different country. Actually what I'm trying to figure out and to ask you, is it lame to ho out alone to bar or some kind of party? I'm taking salsa dancing lessons and our instructor says that there is twice a week some salsa party. I would really like to go there but I don't want to look desperate, and that keeps me from going to this parties. Any suggestions?

Do you feel confident? If you were a very confident person you would find it easier to waltz on in on your own. I have started working on my confidence daily with a speech I repeat in my head. Make up something (even if it sounds cheesy) that pumps you up and makes you feel like you are ready to enter any situation. Do you agree this is a confidence issue? 'Cause if you are afraid of coming off desperate, maybe you are desperate?

go out alone man. make up a story in your head that your famous or something, and no matter what everybody loves you, and if anybody is there that doesn't love you, you don't care because your famous and have a life that they can only dream of. or pretend that everyone is naked..

you know that feeling that you have when your at home and you can just chill out, be comfortable and do anything you want? you can feel that way everywhere you go, alone or not.

tell yourself that you don't care what anybody thinks of you, go out, do whatever it is that you want to do, haters mean nothing, your a man and you deserve to be anywhere and do anything that you want to do regardless of what other people think.

I go out alone all the time! It works better than when you are in a group. Especially if the others dont know about the game.

You know, you really just need to feel that it is ok to go out alone. Nothing wrong with it.

Whenever someone asks me if I am alone I just say: Yeah, I was with my buddies before but they were boring so I dumped them at McDonalds, we might meet up later but whatever Im here to have a good time.
