Sup guys, as the title says I'm new to the forum and have some pretty bad AA/SA issues. I have been reading a bunch of topics on this site and from what I have read everyone seems to really be sincere and care about helping guys like me out which is awesome. I could definitely use it. Pretty much the only way i meet new people is through friends, i can never just walk up to a random person and introduce myself but i really want to change that, and have wanted to for a long time now. I seem to have found the right spot to help me get over my issues and hopefully become a decent PUA.

wish me luck,
scott

Hey there Scott. I am having problems posting, but here goes my third attempt.

I used to have the same problem when approaching people... all it took for me to get somewhat past that was to say hi to everyone. Next thing I know the hellos progressed to something bigger, like how are things? etc, etc,

I have no problem talking to people now, of both sexes, that in itself makes life easier. No? when you can approach anyone and just strike up a conversation. Now the next step for me is learning to create attraction. Which is why I am here... hopefully I can learn.

Scott,

Welcome to the Forum! I want to first congratulate you one the fact that you have decided to make a change in your life. It's not an easy decision. There are a great many posts on Approach Anxiety on the forum that can help you. Likewise, I would recommend picking up Style's new book "Rules of the Game" it's a 30 day challenge. It stair steps you into helping you handle your approach anxiety and giving you small daily missions. Secondly it's only about $20. Good Luck! 8)

Hey dude. I'm having the same problem. I'm a very philosophical guy (i like to think so) and i once made up this saying that goes "as a human race, i think the best thing we can do is to take the advice that we would give to others. For, how could you give advice to someone without believing in it yourself?" and the advice i'd offer someone with AA is to just do it. There's plenty time to waste, granted, but it doesn't mean we should waste it by waiting for the "right" moment. There is no right moment except for when the invituite nudge is there. That's the advice i'd offer and i'm going to live by my quote and take my own advice. Think of what you'd tell someone in your position, then take that advice and use it. Hope it helps to know you're not alone bud. Keep it up, as must us all :D

I had the same problem too and talking to people really does help. My advice is to start small, like ask someone for the time, or if you see someone reading a book, ask them what it is and if it's any good. After doing this for a while, your anxiety should shed itself.
