Well after having begun reading Neil Strauss' book, I found it absolutely fascinating that this whole community exists. I think its just great really. Strauss' description of himself early in the book matches perfectly with how I see myself, in that I am just terrible at getting girls.

I have begun to research some of the information on picking up that is on this site, but for the time being I am finding that it is quite irrelevant for me.

Now I am a high school student, about to finish my second last year of exams (in fact I have one tomorrow afternoon), and as such I don't have access to clubs or bars like most of you do as I am not old enough, however that isn't the help that I need.

I am currently getting quite close with this girl that I go to school with. We text each other quite regularly and when I see her at school we often have a good chat and I feel like I am getting places with her, but at the same time I know I'm not. I have had this trouble with girls before, in that I am unable to make that move from good friend to more than that.

I firmly believe that this girl is interested in me, but right now that interest that we share is just sitting there, and nothing is being done about it.

I would love any help that anyone could give me, whether it be specific advice or if someone could link me to a thread or sticky etc. that would give me some good newbie's advice.

first of all man....get off your computer and STUDY! lol exams are important!

second...if you're sure she's interested then ask her out...be relaxed and cool about it so she's not under pressure!

Oh I am don't worry. I have put in about 10 hours today, and I put in about 4 hours every night for the whole year, I have literally run out of revision material..

Well that sounds like a plan to be honest. I will give that a crack once all this exam bullshit is over. When I ask this girl out, do I make it clear that I am asking her on a date or just to go out and do something with me?

you make it clear that it's a DATE not chillin btwn two friends cuz then u'll DEF. never make it outta teh "friend zone"

yeah definitely make it clear that its a date! but don't just outright hit out with it...slip it casually into a conversation with her. make sure you do all the usual stuff like kino escalation and all that!
