I always thought that it is better to pretend that you don't know your target's name. I felt that it was kind of like a DHV. What's your take on this?

I don't think that forgetting a girls name will make you look better in her eyes. Personally, I am pleasantly surprised when a guy remembers my name and I look upon him more favorably. But remembering a girls name is such a moot detail....it will neither assure the date or lose you the date.
