Hey there, PUAF. I'm Cryogenic, and I'm completely new to the whole PUA scene. I'm 18 years old, almost 19, living in Vienna, Austria, currently, though I'm originally from Russia (or, technically, I was born while it was still the USSR).

I got into this in a rather roundabout way. I guess the start of the whole thing was when I was in my first semester of university here, absolutely despising it due to my lack of German conversational skills (despite having lived here for 8 years already), finding myself at a lack of social contacts because all of my english-speaking friends had gone off to study in England or elsewhere, and coming out of a bad LTR, with the realization that I have no way of getting into relationships because of having focused solely on the typical AFC approach during high school. I ended up googling around some basic information on the PUA scene, but somehow my interest faded after a while. Later, I found that a couple people I know were playing the game by accidentally stumbling upon their Field Reports. I read through some of them and the actual success they were reporting was, quite frankly, a surprise to me. So I borrowed some of their materials and got to reading sporadically. It was not until I read Neil Strauss' The Game this week that I really decided I wanted to be part of this thing, so, here I am.

My goals are partially what most aspiring PUAs' goals are - that is, to be 'good' with women - but also are in large the exploration of the psychology behind this art (psychology being a topic that has always attracted me) as well as 'self-improvement', for lack of a better word.

So I'd like to finish off this introduction with a question to the more experienced among you. I've read up the basics on a few methods, such as Mystery, NLP, and The Juggler, but before I get deeper into any one method I would like to know which of these would be most beneficial for me to start off with. Given my situation - being comfortable enough to game only in the English language, while being surrounded by a predominantly German-speaking community - I'd imagine some Methods would work better than others; for example, Ross Jeffries' NLP seems like it would be vastly inferior to most due to it focusing on the HB picking up inflection in certain parts of your sentences as well as interpreting your routines as imagery and emotion, which would probably be difficult with a girl that speaks English as a second language. Furthermore, I will be approaching my first sets next week with a friend of mine, as having competition with him and backing from him will be giving me a lot of motivation, so if there are any methods that fit two people better, those would probably benefit me in the first stages of my learning. So, if you have any suggestions I'd like to hear them.

In any case, this has been horrendously long-winded for an introduction post, so I'll be taking my leave for the time being, but I'll be lurking in the community and trying to contribute where I can with what little knowledge I currently have.
