After a losing streak during my early twenties, I’ve decided to rejoin the PUA community.

I used to be part of a mailing list in which Mystery participated; I’m talking maybe ten years ago. I remember having a heated discussion with him regarding the veracity of the supernatural. Since he is a magician, you know where he stands on the subject, and the moderator moved it off topic.

I picked up a copy of The Game recently and started thinking back in terms of seduction. The story of Marko’s girlfriend struck me as a quite poignant cautionary tale.

One problem I’ve had is that I resemble a TV actor but only from afar, so when I would hit the clubs, girls would approach me just to see if I was the guy and left disappointed. This increased my anxiety dramatically and was a real problem until, recently, I grew a beard.

The one thing I have going for me, is that when I was a teenager I wanted to be an actor myself, and read up on Stanislavski and such. So there’s a part of me that’s very chameleonic in nature. Like Style, I come from a writing background, which is mostly useless in seduction.

But Mystery's advice was sound, you need to be quick on your feet or you'll lose the girl, even if she seems unavailable.
