Alright, I know the name sounds a little cheesy, but there is a story behind it and I'll explain in a minute. First just wanted to tell a little about myself and how I arrived here.

I'm 21 years old and am from Morgantown, WV - USA. I'm enrolled at West Virginia University as an English major. My first two years of college resulted in only one relationship; a girl who I'm on and off with currently, though I feel there isn't much future there. If you live in the USA this should strike you as odd since WVU was rated the #1 party school in the nation just one year ago by the Princeton Review. You would think there would be girls out coming out the ying yang to party and meet up with guys, and there are, but not for me. I've watched roommates walk in our apartment with girls all the time, with apparent ease, never knowing how they achieved this. My attitude was one of, "some guys have the gift and others don't. So it goes." This changed one night though.

When my 21st birthday rolled around, my friends took me to a strip club to celebrate and I ended up locking onto one stripper in particular. She was one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, and all over me since it was my birthday. And yes, I know it was her job, but there was an attraction there I never really felt before. I was racking my brain, telling myself, there has to be a way to get a girl like this.

Before I left, a guy I had talked to a little during the night came over to me and said, "you could have a girl like that. You aren't bad looking and are genuinely nice. You just need to work on your game." I asked him how and he told me to pick up a book called The Game by Neil Strauss to start off with and I did just that.

I poured through it, and saw my first opportunity in this, but there wasn't much in the book about actual technique. That's when I found Gambler's PUA home training guide and bought it. It was well worth it. Not only has it increased my confidence and changed my belief that only some guys have the gift, it's helped me discover NLP, which through some more books has changed my outlook on life. Friends and family can tell already tell a big difference.

So I've been trying these techniques for about a month now and there has been some success and some number closes, but there is some more stuff I would like to work on, which is why I'm joining this forum. I know right now I'll be mostly learning from the more experienced, but maybe I can offer some tips of my own in due time. Thanks and I'm looking forward to increasing my game!

Oh and about why I chose Vulcan. I'm not sure how many people study Greek and Roman mythology, but Vulcan is the god of fire, and more importantly he is the husband of Venus, the goddess of love. According to mythology, when Venus first arrived on Mt. Olympus, all the gods were bending over backward for her attention, due to her exceptional beauty, except for Vulcan. He was awkward around the other gods and goddesses in general and that's what drew her to him. I think that story fits in well with what a PUA should be; standing apart from the crowd, so the girl notices him.
