Hey, just thought I'd introduce myself to you guys. This looks like a pretty sweet place to learn how to be good at what most guys aren't good at; picking up.

My name's Alex, I'm in second year university and just turned 19 a week ago (i'm in Canada, so i'm of age now ) i've been to bars and clubs before with a fake ID, but this hindered my confidence i think, so now i should have no excuse, but i still do. what keeps running through my mind is, what if i get turned down by a girl and then i see her later while on campus or something...i dunno but i freaks me out. I can relate to a ton of topics, but its getting the girl to talk about them first so i can give my opinion, any advice? or places i should visit for openers and conversation starters? Thanks

i forgot to add a few things that were advised like how, at the moment, i pick up: and well its nothing really special, but i usually try and run just on my looks and charm i guess. All my girlfriends might say that i'm the nicest guy they know, but lets get serious here, i know and we all know, the nice guy usually gets shafted when it comes to a girls decision whether to try the nice guy or the outgoing adventurous type.
