Now if the above lines were serious comments I wouldn't be asking the question. You know that thing girls do when they playfully say something sarcastic? It's not from the heart but it's not said to hurt you or make you go away either.

So do phrases like that count as indicators or not?

Honestly it's hard to answer this question because we weren't there. We can't see what her body language was doing when she said it. We can't hear the tone and inflection in her voice. She may have said it sarcastically, playfully, etc.

Like you said normally it would be. When in doubt just ignore it.
