I didn't know what a PUA was until I read the mystery method about a month ago, and realized I was one. Let me explain.

I am not a natural by any means. I was a total AFC through out high school with one failure after another followed by a bad case of 1itis after another. I graduated with a particularly bad case of 1itis and had a hard time getting over it.

It wasn't your typical case of 1itis in that she was generally attracted to me. She had a boyfriend but she hardly ever mentioned him. We would talk about what to name our kids when we got married - real corny stuff. The problem was two fold.

One was that I never build enough kino
Two was that I simply never met with her out side of school (didn't have a car).

After I graduated I knew I would never see her again. I knew I blew it. I also knew the problem was me and not her. I didn't convey enough value. I Didn't build kino. I never asked her to come over.
Even though I had no idea what those concepts meant at the time (expect maybe the last one).

So about a month after graduation (2004) I looked for some help online. I found David DeAngelo and his cocky funny material. I ate it all up. I thought he was the end all of attraction. The thing that's unique about David is he doesn't talk about the community. He just does his thing. I thought he was the shit and didn't bother with anyone else. I certainly had no idea that he was just the tip of the iceberg. If it wasn't cocky and funny, it was crap!!

And so for almost four years I've been sarging armed with nothing but cocky and funny and the occasionally David DeAngelo video seminar or news letter to pick me up. My success rate on the approach and number close was very high. I thought that meant something at the time. I had lots problems with kiss closing and LMR. I didn't care though, it was still SO MUCH better then before.

I was still far from mastery though. A point that struck home when I ran into my old high school friend and made my self look like a fool in front of her. I don't know why, I can honestly say that I was over her for more then 3 years, yet there was something about it that hurt my confidence. It almost seemed like I failed one of life's little tests. I couldn't get the girl in high school, so I go and get three years of practice and try again - and fail again. I mean I was only hoping for some IOIs to prove to myself that I was a changed man - I really wasn't even trying to get laid...really. Yet still I was embarrassed and began to doubt my guru.

So I went back online and discovered the PUA community. I read "The Mystery Method" and it was so refreshing. It was like having someone come and solve a riddle you've been thinking about all day. His method was so methodical and easy to understand. It wasn't anything ground breaking. He just completed and articulated concepts that have been on the tip of my tongue for a long time.

Anyways I decided to never make the mistake of limiting my learning opportunities again. I have since read 4 non-DeAngelo books on seduction. I've been reading PUA forums for a while now but never posted anything. So I decided to drop in to introduce myself and say hi.
