I'm very eager to learn and improve my game. Im ready to get out in the sunshine state and start trying to master the game. Any pointers or tips or any advice for a beginner would be appreciated.

No amount of reading will be superior to time in field. From every success and every failure you can learn something, where books and free info online often will cloud your mind in field and mess you up socially.
Go out, thats how you get good.

Actual time in-field is in-valuable when you start to reach any sticking points or stop seeing progress that's a good time to jump online and try and get a new perspective on things
