Hi, my name is James (for the sake of this). I just read The Game, which opened my eyes to this incredible community.
Basically, I am an AFC. At school, not much was going on with ladies because I was so unconfident with myself. I am quite social, and I have many great friends, I don't sit at home alone or anything like that. I am 5ft7, 57 kg and I look like I am about 15. To emphasise this, I am the guy who is gonna get ID'ed at 30. I am 18 and have just left school.

I have never had a proper girlfriend, and any "experiences" were drunk one-nighters, bar one which was ten times worse... Whenever I go to a club, I get laughed at when I approach women, I even got called a 13 year old by one very rude one.

I have started to change my body, I have gained a lot of weight through going to the gym, but that will only help so far. I have some stuff going for me: I am smart and friendly.

I am writing this to ask the PUAs of this forum, What advice can you give me to help me breaak into the world of Pick Up: It is a bit hard to use any techniques if you can't start a conversation with someone in a club without being told I am too young to be there?

I am wary of including more information because I would rather people do not recognize me from the info I gave, but I would give more if necessary. I am just looking for some help, even just someone to chat to about it.

Start with approaching people on the street, and move on from there. You'll see the difference.

I'm new to the forums to and just recently finished reading the book. And the rules

One thing I learnt is to not give a rats behind what people thought of me and tell myself "there loss"

Harder said than done I know.

I do agree with starting with daytime stuff than clubs.
For the past 3 days I've been working on the shop assistant round the corner from me. And I now have her number in my phone book.

If anything show fake confidence and then you'll acquire actual confidence!

Don't be too forward. For example the day I got her number I walked in only needed milk but managed to stay 10 minutes just talking to her. Plenty of IOI's

One of the things she noticed was I was at that shop more recently.

I put the milk on the counter and she initiated the conversation (easier that way as now I know she's interested in talking) "your back again for milk"

I replied;
I do t actually need milk. I came to see a pretty face.

She giggled (IOI)

The usual replies "oh so who's that then"

Anyway in the end I got her number in 10 minutes!
I also had confidence issues but when I read the book I thought screw it. Be who I want to be.
So just start with random chit chat or drivel. May seem pointless but will get you acqainted with approaching and initiating conversation!

@strikeback how old are you? Great story btw. I just started a journal. It's started very slow, but hopefully will pick up pace soon. Giving a fuck about what people think is a big issue but I think I can push through it.

@pristinepua a lot of my friends are male and a lot are female. I'm fine chatting to girls normally, but I never get taken seriously when I like someone so I am trying to change. Fed up of being only virgin in my group :/

I'm new to this community so I don't know a lot of the techniques, but the first thing you're going to have to do is get your confidence up. You have to forget about how young you look or how scrawny you may be. I mentioned in my introduction that I got into Tony Robbins. I liked a lot of his stuff, it's mostly NLP and it helps in a lot of other areas. I think it helped me immensely, but it probably isn't going to help you with a long term relationship because it isn't natural, according to the FAQ's on this site. Actually I have notice this problem myself.

That being said, if you don;t even have the initial confidence, you won't get a girlfriend either.I'm posting a link. It's a TED talk and it isn't really a PUA specific thing. It is meant for someone going on a job interview. It isn't NLP per say, but it touches on a lot of the stuff that Tony Robbins says about physiology. There are ways to make yourself feel more confident and this TED talk explains it scientifically.
