Just started watching The Pickup Artist and I am near finished Style's The Game. I have already noticed it has helped me with my life in general, not just with women but at work, other guys, even my bosses seem to have opened up to me a bit more. So naturally I DO NOT want this self improvement to stop.

I am a confident guy, and most other guys seem to gravitate towards me easy enough. I even find it real easy to talk to girls about general crap (basically I can fluff easily if I have the term correct). But that's where my sticking point hits. I open, I fluff, but I have no idea how to close and actually make the girl aware I'm into her. Then the inevitable hits and BOOM! Friend-zoned! I always think to myself "dude.. just phase shift.... let the alpha dog out" but alas, I always hold him back, afraid to offend them, embarrass myself or "get the wrong idea"

An example of my problem:
I was fluffing with a friend of a friend. This cute, intelligent, brunette who enjoys gaming, geeky movie nights and all the shit I love. I got that she used to go climbing with her bro, which is also a hobby of mine. So I invite her to come down with me. She agreed excitedly(IOI), and gave me her number (IOI).

In the days between, I went clothes shopping. Happened along the shop that she worked at (a coincidence, I didn't know she worked there). Asked her advice on some stuff and after picking some clothes (one of which was a low cut top revealing a lot of my chest) I said
Me: "I think its a bit revealing"
Me:"I don't think I can pull this off"
Her: "Oh a think your one of the few who can" Big smile

Didn't take it anywhere after that. Just that I looked forward to seeing her at climbing. We got to the climbing centre, naturally we climbed, She commented on my calves "omg your calves are ripped! I mean seriously" (IOI) I just laughed and said thanks as I have no idea how to respond to that and can't figure out whether it is a normal compliment or a flirtation. And I am too worried to dig and find out which it is.

Basically ended up falling into the friend zone. Haven't seen her in a while as its really frustrating and confusing.

So I hope I can one day get past my fear, figure out how to conquer it and at some point find somebody who I can enjoy my time with, wine and dine, and EVENTUALLY settle down with.
