Like you, I started to learn game not only to pick more girls up but to enrich my life. Its been a few months now and although I'm not a seasoned vet I have moved my life in a completely new direction, and started having more success with women than I've ever had before. Welcome to the journey!!
A suggestion of where to start might be on your inner game. Reading your post you seem to have a very negative view of yourself and until you start to realise that you have a lot to offer, nobody around you will see it either. A good person to look up that a lot of people agree is good at inner game stuff is David DeAngelo, check out his audio book "77 laws of success with women and dating". That's also where I started.
This is a journey man so don't expect to be a Casanova in a matter of weeks. It takes determination and doing things you don't feel comfortable with. The more I've pushed myself the faster I've grown and that in tern has motivated me to push myself even harder. This is only my two cents buddy but someone left a similar post on my intro thing and it helped me out a lot so I thought I would return the favour. If you want any other advice PM me.
Finally... REMEMBER THAT WITH OUT PRACTICE THIS WHOLE THING IS POINTLESS!!!! go out as much as you can and try out both day and night game... you might find your more suited to one or the other.
