I rather not share my name if that is okay. I am 36 and recently divorced. I actually got back into the single swing of things real easy at first, I'll admit, mostly on-line and with girls that were friends of mine I knew I could bang.

My divorce was amicable, so there's no drama like that in my life and I have no kids. She left, so I now have a super FAT bachelor pad in NYC of all places. I am very active and I guess would be consdiered toned (I've ran several marathons), but definitely not super chiseled, I don't think that has been a problem for me though. I'm only of average height, but I know there's a good deal of women that find me attractive, geez, I was married and had my share of hot girlfriends. I do have a good job, although the economy has hurt everyone, I own my place so I will never be without my bachelor pad - I am working to my issue.

It's funny, and I even think back this was always true, I rarely approached the women that I had any type of relation with - the two exceptions, my wife and a previous South Americas GF that was super hot that I needed to work, so I know I can do it, I think. Recently depression has kicked in as papers have been signed, of course bills and my profession is cyclical, so I'm not pulling the bank I used (but we all know, you don't necessarily need that to play the game right), so I'm a little lost.

Since, I've been separated from my wife, I have had numerous great encounters, but at times it almost felt as if I was settling (which isn't totally bad, I'm not looking to get married again soon); or not really in control, literally just getting lucky.

I am having a hard time with openers, I feel weird about it, I'm also trying to do this without drinking, which I know leads to better results when done right. I guess I just been away for too long, I want to get back in with Uber confidence.

Thank you for listening.

-J.

Welcome to the forum J. Sometimes rough paths in life teach us great lessons, so take all of it in, and move on. You are in a great advantage when it comes to learning PUA material: YOU LIVE IN NYC.

Why do I know it's good? Because I live here myself. The opportunities we have of approaching women are endless, so really take advantage of that.

Work on your inner game. That's the most important thing you need to take care on in order to become good with women. As a matter of fact, if your confidence is good, you won't have to use many openers to get things going (a simple 'Hi' can do the trick).

Learn, practice, and ask as much as possible. Hopefully, we'll be able to help.

Banasario, Thank you for the kind words. I know what you mean and started reading up on some of this. It's funny, my wife (2 years younger) said, J., you are going to so thank me for this, you don't realize what a hot commodity you are in NYC. I need to get the confi back, I know. Single in your mid 30s, especially in a place like NYC has a lot of advantages, as you know, but of course I forget things like how to approach groups, how to get the one you like out of the group, etc. Of course I'm wingman dry too - I either have the 25 y/o in my office who act like idiots (and it works for them), my one buddy who is just a terrible wingman, another, well, is married (long story).

I'm also doing this because it will help with work. You can be in my profession with a nagging lack of confidence bothering you, it does transcend into everything you do...

J.

I see what you're saying. First of all, one thing at the time. Techniques and all that will come with time and practice, but first deal with your inner self.

I mainly do night game nowadays, but I'm going to start doing some Day game just for fun. If you want to, I can take you sarging one of these days and hopefully help you out with what I can (The Union Square area looks VERY promising  )

Actually, that sounds like it could be quite some fun.
