Hey guys (or should I say, fellow PUAs),

I am a 21 year old college junior (Electrical Engineering major), and I am gonna lay my cards on the table here. I am a huge nerd. Xbox, comic books, bookworm, mathlete, movie guru, sci-fi geek, grammar-nazi, you name it. However, I hit the gym at least an hour a day, and I consider myself to be in great shape. I'm about 6' tall and weigh roughly 170lbs, and I have hardly any reservations about my appearance. I'm pretty happy with most things about myself, except for one thing.

I am a very introverted person, which limits my prospects on the dating field.

I recently (about 4 months ago) broke up with my girlfriend of three years, so I've been out of the game for some time. I'm not completely terrible (I can hold eye-contact with girls, and I know when a girl is into me), but I have a hard time initiating things. Conversations, for example, are something I find myself in rarely with women. I don't really know what it is, but it's like there's a wall I can't seem to break through. I meet girls all the time that I just KNOW I could progress with, but my lack of, well, skill in the women department makes them lose interest fast.

I've been trying to help myself get past this block, but I just can't. It's been 4 months, and I haven't even kissed another girl since my ex, and it's starting to really get to me. Teach me your ways  haha

Hey Cal, first of all, thanks for sharing and being honest around here.

So you have the looks, you have the brains, and the only thing you're missing is the skills. Well my friend, you're in a better position than you think you are :).

It all comes to down to improving your inner game in order to boost your self-esteem. Confidence is the key when it comes to dealing with women, and if you can get that, you're pretty much set.

How can you get it? By achieving small milestones. You need to learn how to crawl, before you learn how to walk, and that's where you should concentrate most of your time and energy.

This may help you get started with your inner game: http://www.bosproject.com/more-confiden ... hp?tid=cal

This free tutorial my help a bit with practicing and approach anxiety: http://www.bosproject.com/joinfree.php?tid=cal

Hope it helps

Thanks for the advice!

Confidence/Approach Anxiety are definitely the areas I believe I could use the most improvement with. Hopefully reading the material will be my first step to the life I want!

"Confidence/Approach Anxiety"

from my own experiences the way to gain more confidence and break that approach anxiety is to approach a lot and talk to as many strangers as possible. not only while sarging but on a regular day. For example, If youre waiting in line at starbucks just make some random comment about the number of people in the place or how nice of a day it is. The point of saying stuff like that is to get you comfortable to talking to strangers and it will make it easier when it comes down to the approach. Shoot to talk to 5 strangers a day and you will see that your confidence will grow.

Yea, I'm slowly working my way up, but I'm doing my best to talk to as many strangers as I can. The concept did (and still does a bit) seem foreign at first, and definitely out of my comfort zone, but I can already tell that it's getting easier (slowly, but surely). I have gotten positive responses from a few ladies as well, so I can see how it works.
