Seriously I must have said this 100 times before, therapy is not the answer, they only learn you to cope with the shit in your life not be able to stop it happening, which isnt really the answer for me.
Listen to the damn kid. Whenever someone is suicidal or depressed everyone seems to want to act as if they know what is best for the person. I was the same way as this kid and if he knows that therapy isn't going to help him he understands himself. Maybe he doesn't know what will help him but he knows he needs to face things on his own. Everyone thought they knew what I needed and all the "experts" thought they knew better than me but down the road it turned out almost everything they thought was wrong.
Therapy didn't work for me because I was too independent and someone else trying to analyze my feelings never did me as much good as facing shit head on and having to learn to deal with it myself; no meds, no therapists, no "professionals".
People forget that therapists are like colleges in that they are businesses that try to play down the fact that they are businesses trying to make money. Therapists try to keep you reliant on them for business and they don't teach you to find your own personal power and ambition within yourself.
People don't need to hear someone else's take on their problems because the best person to solve their problems is themselves because a therapist or anyone outside of you will NEVER be able to access the problem solving resources you have within your own body.
I still contend to this day that being suicidal was the best thing that ever happened to me because were it not for that issue I had to overcome I would have never broken out so determined to succeed and let nothing stand in my way. I got up and said that there's nothing I can do I'm going to have to go through shit and feel like crap one way or the other but I might as well do it in a way that''s going to get me out of it eventually.

You wouldn't be here looking for help if you didn't believe you had some kind of chance. You sound really down on yourself but there is no need for that
When people are depressed and feel like they have no more options they will look to ANYTHING that might help them change even if they believe it has no chance; people in this state figure it can't be any worse than their current existence. Also, being down on yourself to a large extent isn't voluntary and some people who have shit luck have to do a lot of soul searching before they figure things out and know how to look at the world positivley.
His situation is something inescapably personal that you would have lived through something similar to truly understand or comprehend what he is going through.
