I think everyone is too different to recommend a specific "course plan" that you should follow, the best is to let it come to you in which ever order it happens, just remember nothing is absolute and there is no "best" method, we all have our awesome, unique and purpose-specific styles.
Thats probably one of the best things you can do first is start thinking about a style, dont "define" it yet but start thinking about it, "designing" it. This will take you in the direction of the right things to study. For example Mystery and David Wygant are like epically (is that a word?) opposite yet each has their successful paths and their students get results, just always remember your personal "goals" are more important than the main-stream expectations of things like the community.
I've personally never read Neil Strauss' stuff, call me ignorant but I dont have mental space to absorb everyone's methods so for a while now I've been very happy with self discovery and social engineering.
