| Normally, I'm not one to seek dating advice from a forum, but I'll put the skepticism aside and try it out.
Currently a 20 year old college student, aiming to be a banking executive. I've got a 3.86 GPA, self-taught knowledge in accounting, and expertise in basic C++.
Of course, when it comes to women, I struggle. BUT, I have a different struggle.
Most guys are scared to talk to a girl, afraid that women will spit venomous acid at them if they ask her to dance, or try to game her. Fortunately, I got over that thanks to my new group of friends (Outgoing social guys, borderline "assholes", but got your back through everything).
They seem to have no trouble getting girls, because they've had plenty of practice (One of my friends has 3 girlfriends at once, but I wont elaborate on that). They're all pulling in women left and right, and have this way of acting that makes them cool.
Of course, I'll be the guy who cant approach without thinking I'll make myself look like an ass in front of the girl. My friends keep encouraging me to go in, not giving a shit, and see where it goes from there. While I do make it past the introduction (Greeting, where you from, etc...), the teasing part is where I choke. I'm not the teasing/nagging type, and I fuck up everything I say. I then retreat into a downwards spiral, trying to keep my cool, yet dismiss the convo so that she wont think I'm a total dumbass. Were it not for my circle I'd be rump roast. (They never stop trying to help me, so I'm glad for that).
I guess I'm trying to ask for steps to overcome my awkwardness. I've only read DYD and took a look at Magic Bullets, and found some of the stuff to be a complete crock of shit (Especially DYD). There has to be more to developing a connection with someone than cheap 13 year old teasing.
But, I've put my skepticism aside, and am willing to listen to progress. Saw the VH1 show, and had a bit of faith in what Mystery was doing (Bit on the wild side with the hat and goggles, but he's being him, so I cant hate).
Help a brother out? Appreciate any feedback.
