I am 27 years old and a resident of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.) If Chief is who I think he is, he's probably the one who first planted the seed of pickup in my brain. More recently, another (online) friend of mine has also decided that I deserve more of a chance with woman than I have heretofore given myself.

I have been lightly reading about pickup for several months and this past week, I devoured The Game. I have been advised that my next textbook should be Mystery Method. I do not yet know what method most appeals to me.

I have two goals for pickup. I want to become a more sociable and socially-skilled person. I also want to make the acquaintance of women with the intention of eventually finding a girlfriend. As noted above, I intend to be the Gentleman PUA. I bet you never thought you'd find a devoutly Christian man seeking this forbidden fruit, but here I am. (If I ever steal your girlfriend for the night, don't worry. We'll probably just smooch and she'll have homemade cookies to share with you the next time you see her.) If for any reason, you feel like you need to criticize me for lacking ambition, don't bother. Self-respect, self-improvement, and self-determination are my first principles.

Casual dating is a relatively new experience for me. Until two years ago, I was a serial monogamist. That culminated in a failed engagement shortly after I moved to the Twin Cities. I've been open to more casual relationships, but I haven't had much luck finding a date. I am still looking forward to my next long-term relationship and ultimately to finding the future Mrs. Glass but I am no longer satisfied with chance and happenstance dictating my options.

Getting a "date" is the easy part. Finding someone that meshes with you is the hard thing, at least for me.
