I've seen a lot of post on this forum about guys asking what to text to this girl, or about what to do in a certain situation

I have posted some of those myself...and now I think maybe it was a mistake.

We are here, this forum was open to divulge techniques and tactics. Go to the top of the website..."Pick-up-artist-forum (bunny).......Advanced Pick up artist techniques and tactics!"

When you start your transformation in to a PUA, you are learning a new skill, and you can use it to improve your live. Being a PUA is not letting anyone telling yo what to do, nor a blueprint of what to do in every situation

So when you have a doubt of what to do in any situation, just play your cards, follow your instincts.

At least if you fail, you can learn from it and improve yourself, not blame someone for a bad advice.

If you do decide to send a text, make sure it is just a joke. you can find the joke of the day all over the internet. thats all you need, you will either get a lol back or a call back, sometimes a who is this. to avoid the who is this, put your name at the end of your text

RedMole, this is something that all guys on here NEED to realize, but I promise you, as much as this post was needed, the words will fall on deaf ears within days. But, thanks for trying.

Yes I know...but still I felt obliged to post this.

People dont understand that becoming a PUA requires commitment, and disipline...its not like getting all the answers to live from a hat...just after pulling out the rabbit.

Thats why I recommed newbies to read, inform themselves about what they are getting into.

Not so much actually. There's tons more info in there. Sure, we have a few guys that are newbies that pay to get right in there and occassionally there's some newb questions which I personally have no problem with, because they paid to get in there, so it's there right, but the experience in there is nothing like the main forum.

I like the point you are trying to make here but why does it have to be so negative? I have not seen anyone here blame another for "bad advice". I think most people here understand that it's just that, advice.

I dont think I was being negative, I just was pointing at a attitude common on this forum that I think is harmful.

I didnt meant that bad advices are posted here....thats not the problem. Is requesting for advice the real problem. The PUA path, doesnt is to know what to do in every situation, it is to obtain a skill. To know what to do you just have to read a lot and to have a plan for every contingency. To learn a skill you have to practice, and to understand the nature of it.

When I started playing ultimate (the frisbee football), I had a hard time trying to toss the disc right.

Then this guy, with huge dreads, told me " Dude dont do it like the coach is telling you to, it has to feel like you were trying to get rid of something sticky glued to your hand..." Then I did it perfectly, because I focused on how it felted, not on what people told me to do.

I did everything wrong cause I followed every instruction, like if I was building a model boat.

The same applies to the game; you have to know how it is supposed to feel, what to look for, what is propper to say, when do you have a chance to use that...etc. you dont get that by reading, neither asking what to do, cause that is not important. Whais is really important is to know what to do because you feel it.

I know it sounds awfully sentimental, but is the truth.

What you're saying is true, BUT that comes with time and practice. Everyone has to start somewhere, and that somewhere is usually with training wheels. Hence the material to study and the questions that are asked.

Honestly, you can't acquire this skill w/o learning what's going on. Whether you happen to learn it on your own, or through other's experience, either way, you are learning it.

I agree, but....

PU is like learning math, you cant learn math doing everything with a calculator. You have to learn the process, the operations, so you can resolve a math problem succesfully.

Some guys post questions waiting for a "calculator" kind of answer, just what to do and how to do it. But thats not the way to learn a new skill. You can work with a "calculator" answer for a while, it might even get you laid, but you wont adquire any real skill, you wont be consistent, and if one day your "calculator answer" doesnt works to solve the problem anymore, you wont be able to solve the problem by yourself.

PUA skills are a set of instuments to learn to solve problems, not a way to just solve them.

You're exactly right on that.

Of course, this is like any other field. There are people that want a quick fix and we won't get rid of that. They don't want to learn what's going on, they want to solve their particular problem immediately and that's it. However, there are also those of us that learn what's going on and use the knowledge to REALLY move forward.

So, it balances out.

But, even for those guys that want to really use what they learn to grow and move forward, even they have to usually start with the training wheels. Of some type anyway.

Yeah, you are right on that one, but; how we can tell apart the ones that want to learn from the ones that just want to get a quick fix?

We don't always knows right off the bat. Sometimes it's easy to tell, sometimes not so much. As I said, it balances out in the end.

Unless . . . you have something else in mind?

And, does it even matter?

Well, I guess this thread ends here with an open question:

Do you want to to learn or do you want a quick fix?

I think that is important to make newbies know that they have to learn the skills, in order to improve theis PU skills.
