Hi all, I'm a 22 year old from the Netherlands and I've started this journal to become better at pick up.

So far I've been in this game for almost a year now and not yet seeing the results I wanted. Sure I've improved, got some numbers, got laid a few times but overall I'm not satisfied with it, thus this journal.

My life is pretty ok, usually I go out with a few friends on saturdays, but I want to improve it and make my life awesome! Also I'm in my last year at school and will get my bachelor in ICT in a year. Because I'm a nerd with computers, I tend to view people as robots and thus I run into social problems as soon as unexpected things happen.

Now a list of my goals and points of improvement:

Pick up related goals:

- Get totally rid of approach anxiety; I've handled this part mostly over the last year, yet there are times when I feel it coming up again. I want to remove it completely, see a hottie and approach right away! For anyone having this issue aswell, it worked for me to get rid of those opinion openers and instead use situational openers.

- Attraction building; When I approach, my first questions generally are the boring stuff. Where, what, etc.. I want to learn some cold reading and start making observations and use some statements.

- Kino; I do much better at this, at least I touch my target, yet it's the boring touching. I want to escalate faster.

Life style related goals:

- Get a job. As a student I'm always low on money and I do have one spare day in the week. I want to get a job as a software engineer for one day per week.

- Make more friends; I view people as robots, it's tough for me to make a connection with people. I have about 15 friends I regularly hang out with. This should be more.

- Stop watching porn. Same as most guys, I have a porn addiction and I never regarded it as something bad. Starting from today I won't watch porn again.

- Engage in physical activity; I do some running from time to time to keep in shape. But it's boring to just run. I have to find something else to do, I've tried climbing recently, but it wasn't the thing I liked. In the past I played football and judo. I'm open to any suggestions![/b]

Note: Most of my pick up attempts happen in trains, because I travel 1 hour and 45 minutes between school and home. Enough time to have some conversations in 3 and a half hours!

Monday

Monday I took the train back from school. Heard a cute girl talking on the phone about having a bad day and thus I asked her whether she also came back from school. She did. Had a nice conversation with her, apparently she sits in the same building as me, just a few floors lower. I wanted to ask for her number, but shortly before that she told me about having a boyfriend, so I decided not to ask for her number.

Tuesday:
Had a nice day with a girl I once was close with. Few months back this girl was almost my girlfriend, but we didn't see eachother for 8 weeks during the summer break. This made things feel totally different. Anyways, it was nice seeing her again. We had a walk through the park, had a drink (she paid for it ) and it was fun. We didn't kiss or hug or anything else, as expected.

Wednesday
Wednesday I went drinking in the train bar with one of my friends. Saw the girl from monday again, greeted her. Had a few drinks at this bar, was an okish day.

Thursday
Thursday I was ill, barely managed to get through the day at school. Result: nothing.

Friday
Friday I went to school and to an agency which offers to find jobs for students. This resulted in long train trips, I spent 6 hours in the train travelling. I got a job interview next week, perfect! Also I approached 5 woman during the day, I feel good about myself! First woman was when going to school, a woman was wearing red pants and so was I. So I complimented her on her sense of style. She thanked me and put in her ear plugs. Second woman was at the train station, I noticed her shopping bags and asked her whether that city was a good place to shop. We had a nice conversation, but she seemed a bit young.
Third woman was in the train again, she had a bag with alot of newspaper articles about Marilyn Monroe, I asked her if she's a fan of this woman, but she ignored me completely, it was harsh.

Fourth woman this day was in a train later, she was sitting next to me, but she had to leave the train immediately when I spoke to her, it wasn't that much of a deal, I was only opening to keep in conversational mode. Right away there was a nice girl who was from the same region as me and talked with her. Even though my material was bad and it was a boring conversation, she laughed alot. I found her on facebook and I'm considering to send her a message about meeting up for a coffee, she only lives 10km away.

For next week, I want to approach at least one girl per day and I want to improve on making more interesting conversations.

2 Days late, but here goes anywhere.

Saturday 22 September I went out with a few friends, went to a bar which was nice. I couldn't really start approaching because it feels bad when my ex is around (Proven once again that dating in your circle of friends always ends bad..). Later during the night we went to a new bar in the city, because it was the only one which still let people in. The majority of the women there was over 40, which sucks for me. It didn't stop me from at least socializing with a few there, got a drink from a woman which was 36 years old and had a few laughs.

Monday I approached a woman in the train because I noticed her penguin socks, we had some conversation about how cute penguins are.. Penguins are my favourite animals ^.^

I've been too busy during the rest of the week to do anything pick up related. Next week should be better!
